THEY ARE BLOWING SNOW TONIGHT!!!

i was at a church retreat and my mom was talking to one of the people's wives that are really high up there at sunburst, and they were saying that they were blowing snow tonight, and the new snow machine they got kicks so much ass!

yeah and i bet there going to blow today and tonight cuz right now its 32, and tonight its supposed to be 25, She said that whenever its around 28 and not damp, there blowing so hopefully they'll open around thanksgiving, hopefully earlier.

^^^ that would be sick. Anyone know when they might even open? i would imagine with the new snow making system they could open soon. What are your predictions?

woot woot, andy not only throws down on skis but he also drops knowledge on fools.

I CAN'T WAIT TO HIT UP THE SB AGAIN!

32 degrees and under for all ski resorts is the prime snow blowing experience. Anything above 32, the chemicals in the mist wont convert to snow.

going by weather.com they could blow:

tonight

monday

next saturday

expected rain coming from the rockies will his us this week, i doubt they will try and blow snow, it would be a waste of money imo.

Yes, they made snow, problem is they don't have all their hoses up and running so I don't think they'll be able to open Tuesday night:-( The weather doesn't look good for a while then!

Remember the water coming out of the guns is still above freezing so you really need 26 or less with low humidity even with drift additives.

Whoever said they got a mailbox rail, not true, find a new source.

Picnic table

big rainbow box

some kind of park bench box.

I don't know what happened to the down flat down idea!

It's too bad tyrol is such a drive. Welcome to the monopoly in Eastern WIsconsin.

thank you CJ i was going to have to corect these kids on there facts. 32 degrees is a horrable temputre for making snow might as well be pissing water on to the hill. Like cj said the normal MAGIC Number is around 28 - 26 depend on the wet bulb which is the humidity in the air.

called them today and they wont be open this weekend.

Said theyre testing out the new system and havnt made serious snow

they hav 4-5 days they cud blow snow before nxt weekend.

theyve needed 3 in the past but may only need 2 with all new snowmaking

32 is where it starts to get very iffy. You can blow with anything under 32. My dad works up at alpine and they use chemicals that allow anything under 32. But as you said, 26 is where it starts to become good snow though.
