for anyone who dirtbikes, or knows anything about dirtbikes -

so i might be getting a new bike and i was wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between a Honda CR and a Honda CRF

CR is more of a racing bike,CRF is more of a trail bike. depends on where you live there both nice bikes.

cr's are two strokes... so they are considered kinda outdated...... crf's can be either trail bike or mx bikes... for example a crf250r would be for racing... crf250x and 450x would be for offroad, but still sick... crf230 crf150 are both super heavy... and couldnt be used for mx..

yeah i didnt really mean outdated, most ppl just think they arent competitive anymore. I've only raced my 125 and i did alright, i got a 250f but i havent used it yet because ive been hurt.... but if he is going to be racing he should probably get a four stroke, except they are expensive to maintain and stuff

the CR is a two stroke, and the CRF is a four stroke.

There is absolutlery nothing wrong with a good 2 stroke bike. i ride one over a 4 stroke. they are less maitence, easier to fix, and really a blast to ride.

a used four stroke can be a ticking time bomb, a new top end on a 2 stroke is 200 bucks and some labor yourself, a 4 stroke top end is at least 1000 bucks with labor.

2 strokes are good first bike for everyone in my opinion.
