So I've broken a few ribs, fingers and my nose but never had to have a serious cast on for a decent amount of time. The other night I broke my Fibia and now I have to have a cast on for 6 weeks. I'm not a pussy so I can deal with lasting out the itching and stuff like that, but does anyone have any hints for not having that shit smell? Its not a waterproof cast so I cant get it wet, but can I like sponge around my toes and stuff like that? fuck this sucks

fibia - the unfortunate mutation of your legs bones so that there is only one bone in your lower leg. therefore fibia.

but seriously just fan it. keep it dry.

never wear anything around it. like wear shorts, no sock over it. becuase when i broke my ankle, i think the reason it smelled was becuase of the sweat.

And as a follow up to that, exactly HOW BAD can the smell get? I bought this sleeve to not get it wet so that takes some smell possibilities out of the equation

i broke my leg last year..... it never really smelled although i got the bottom of the cast so wet that when they took it off, i shed about a pond of dead, water-soaked skin off of the bottom of my foot. so keep it dry. my advice.

i had a non waterproof cast for 2 months. ya it sucks, the itching and annoyingness will eventually go away. just dont get it wet at all or you'll probably have to get a new cast. i put a bike drink holder on my crutches which was awesome and handy. just get used to the fact that its going to suck

I have had a cast on my fore arm for 9 days and it smells like shit already the only thing i have tried is spraying it with axe, which is a good temporary fix. Aswell as airing it out as best i can. Febreeze seems like a good idea aswell.
Maybe also after 3 weeks ask if you can get a new cast?
