^ Yeah dude, you should always check a jump, and then hike back up once you know it's clear and hit it. *sarcasm*

Granted, it wasn't a jump, it's irrational to check every cliff, roller, jump or feature before hitting it. You just have to rely on someone not chilling in a blind spot.

No harm done though. Good think no one died.
 
Well that spot is a pretty terrible spot to hit without seeing if it's clear. There are always people standing in that area before dropping in.

I almost decapitated some lady standing right in a drop zone off STH at Snowbird last year. Wasn't quite as close as this one, but close enough to scare the living daylights out of her.
