For any NSer on the pre-med track

You really have no idea what you're talking about. Where you go to undergrad before applying to med school is almost completely irrelevant. But just to further prove you wrong, CSU's pre OT program is ranked 6th in the nation, the Health and Exercise Science/Sports Medicine program is ranked 1st, and our vet school is 3rd in the nation.

Where you go for undergrad is only irrelevant in the sense that certain students have the work ethic and intelligence to get into med school regardless of where they may choose to go for university. Colorado State almost exclusively attracts students that lack these qualities. Unfortunately for CSU, all the top students in Colorado go out-of-state or to CU/DU/Mines.

Also, you just listed off three different grad programs. Grad programs are completely irrelevant to a conversation about undergrad. I do, however, appreciate the effort to try and slip that Sports Medicine ranking past me. CSU doesn't offer a Sports Medicine fellowship (how could they when they don't even have a med school), nor would it be relevant to an argument about getting into med school because you would need to have already graduated med school to be looking for a Sports Medicine fellowship.

I won't lie it wasn't easy growing up in Detroit. Luckily, I had a good dad who taught me the ways of the street early so I was always able to make a modest income selling crack. Occasionally I'd get some junkie who tried to rip me off and I'd have to kill them, but that's just life in Detroit I guess.

Oh, believe me...I know. I grew up in "Detroit" too. DPS gave me the education I needed to get to college and med school, though, so it's all good!

I was on the pre-health professions track, decided to go to grad school for Public Health instead. Policy Analysis is more fun for me, but I do miss hands-on patient care.

Send me an invite.

Got offered a scholarship to do Medical Science which I believe is Australia's equivalent of pre-med.

I'm an optometrist. I would join to be available for questions..optometry is an awesome career/job. Good money, low stress, normal hours, no call, etc. and you finish school to start life in your mid-late twenties instead of your 30s!
