A heads up....

Starting in 6 weeks, if you're doing 50km+ the speed limit on any of Ontario highways, be prepared to get f***ed. Automatic licence suspension for 7 days, and your vehicle (doesn't matter who owns it) impounded for 7 days on the spot. Then in court, min. $2000 fine plus whatever else they want to throw at you.

This is just a reminder...it's easy to do 50km + on any of the 400 series highways, especially late at night. Look for heavy enforcement in the early days of this new legislation....

well at least by that time my major 400 series hwy driving is done for the year.

here's the problems i see with the new measures:

1) only 50 more OPP for the province

-basically going to be based between the 404/don valley pkwy and mavis rd on the 401

-the amount of people i see doing 50km+ above on a Friday night drive to my cottage north of Kingston would occupy all of the newbies. that doesn't even count the 400 or hwy 11

2) a traffic plane

-the OPP already claim they have speed tracking aircraft. or at least that's what the signs up around keswick say.

-they're getting ONE plane and they say they'll make a difference. that's like customs officials thinking they're making a difference when they stop someone with a gram of cocaine shoved up his ass in the airport.

im really not overly afraid and im pretty sure not too many other people are
