The second speaker was obviously joking. But the first one seemed only to uneducated. Her remarks were the level of maybe an 8th grade "they're french" and other comments are a joke. If you appear on national tv and didnt have one smart thing to say, not only hurts the image of american politics but female politics. The only reason she ever could get on tv is a pretty face.

I think Americans need to realise that there is many countries willing to use our resources (such as China) however, we continue to trade with Americans because we do infact need them for international relations.

I know since I comefrom northern BC a very low populated area, but controls over half the electricty of California. California has millions of dollars in debt to BC Hydro, yet we still continue to provide power for them. It really is a give and take relation. As pointed out by that very smart lady being an ally puts a nuclear shield around us, which benifits the states by allowing rockets to be shot from canada to protect the states. And most likely explode over Canada. But it also puts a target on our back.

It's quite ridiculous how uneducated the most well known political writers of America are. I really can't believe that these people are actually allowed to make concious thoughts yet alone allowed to epress the thoughts on TV in front of millions of viewers. Dog sledding? Come on, that guy can't be serious. And as for Ann Coulter, well, I'm just very suprised about how ignorant she is. We are lucky to share a continent with America? I would prefer to live beside ANY other country in the world. ANY country. In my opinion, America does absolutely NOTHING for Canada. There is a small protection issue, but any other country has Canada's back so it doesn't matter. I wish Ann Coulter to hell.

YES! I travel between Europe and the United States quite a bit and follow the European political scene as well as the one on this continent. Politicians are assholes. Heller in Catch 22 (I think) had a beatiful idea of having the politicians who make the calls for war and combat duke it out in a ring instead of soldiers who never had any input. It might also have been Remarque but I can't remember anymore.

As for the "nuclear shield"...that is only necessary BECAUSE Canada neighbors the US.

fact is we both our countries depend on each other, canada couldve been independant of the US if Mulroney didnt sell out the country back in the 80s. I dont really mind living next to the states, i have nothing against america really. But that womens comments were ludacris "they better hope that the US doesnt roll over one night and crush them", BITCH PLEASE the idea itself is beyond me, but say for a second that the US hypothetically had a legit reason to invade canada, theres no way theyd be able to occupy us, true our army is a joke, but it would be all out gurella warfare, think about it, our citizens would be defending ourself in our own backyard, american soldiers would be out of their element. And im sure the international community would be pretty pissed, im not saying they would do much, but america's popularity would go from bas to worse. And maybe we could cut a deal with china if america invaded, say our natural resources (oil, hydro electricity, lumber, ore...) to get america out of canada, im sure theyd be down for that, i mean if we start trading exclusively with china theyd become the next super power in no time. wow i really rambled there, my point is that laady's a bitch and she's just talking bullshit because she doesnt have the capacity for a serious discussion.

word, Roney was a tool. Trudeau did all these things to make Canada independent, and Mulroney canceled everything. Including the Arrow program we would have been steps aheah of the world had it not been for him. Its funny the Avro Arrow program was canceled so that we could do trade witht he states. Since America chose not to buy our planes whihc were years ahead of the time, the program got canceled so that an american company could make our planes.In exchange canada got to make the US militaries cute green hats.

the US is lucky that Canada is next to them. I say Canada should cut all ties with the states. Stop exporting wood, water, electricity, gas, and other materials. How then would the states survive with out us.
