For all you Acutane takers

don't mess with mother nature...

In the Life Hacks thread, there's a tip about acne. It says that sleeping on a freshly washed towel every night can help you a lot.

You don't notice much right away. For me the first couple months didn't do a whole lot. Then the third month started to clear up. On the fourth I was pretty clear but my upper cheeks broke out pretty bad. After those went away I was at the end and finished at 5.5 months.

I have IBS also and took Acutane for three sessions. I'm pretty sure it's from a condition I have called Fibro though, and not Acutane.

There can be a lot of nasty side effects from acutane, but if you're willing to take that risk it works amazing. I had the clearest skin I've ever seen. Needless to say 4-5 years out it's mild-moderate again, but not as bad as it was. Also don't expect to be makin out with any chicks, shit dries up your lips so bad they split wide open.

don't take it...people taking acutane has been linked to them getting ulcerative colitus, chrones, and ibd.

I never took it, but i do have ulerative colitus and having a clear face is not worth subjecting your self to any if those diseases

I was on it for 13 months total. Got horrible insomnia, and the lining of my digestive system is trashed. Acutane is shit.

i took it and shit works extremely well. i used to have really bad acne on my forehead and a bit around the nose and chin, and accutane cleared it right up. took about 3-4 months, but it does the trick. ive never had acne since (and this was about 6 years ago). you might still get a zit here or there, or mini breakouts, as anybody does, but you'll lose the pizza-face look no question. just make sure you always have chapstick with you. it dries you right out, and your lips are always going to be mad peely and dry.

Is this the drug that is on a million of those if you took this drug and your baby was an alien, you arm fell off, your lungs spontaneously combusted, you woke up with a mullet, call the law offices of judge joe brown commercials?

The best I've seen is when they have the warning about how everyone dies from a drug and the next commercial is advertising the drug. Great ad placements.

i've done plenty of search's on google but honestly anyone that it worked great for doesn't care about posting on a forum. It's always the people that had problems with it. That's why I'd like to hear some personal opinions from other newschoolers

This exactly, I was about to bring up the senators son.
I was on this for some time, and it was really a godsend. I still have acne now, but its really only mild, and it totally manageable. Take it.Only annoying thing was the bloodwork

All those ads and shit on forums are just there to scare you away from accutane. it's all complete bullshit. i'm a frequint weight trainer and i have to admit accutane IS giving me joint pains such as in the back and wrist area. So that's why i'm going to take it easy. for all those who are sketch on accutane. just fucking take it, that is, if you're healthy already. i have a strong digestive system/ammune system so it's not fucking me up.

My sister took it and she had good results with it. As for me, I have yet to take it, and probably won't. I mean this shit goes away eventually, so I may as well just suck it up and not give a fuck right now because its not going to be a problem forever. Yea I'm not too pumped to look in the mirror some mornings, but w/e. If people are going to judge me on it, fuck them. Everyone goes through it and, unfortunately some of us have it worse than others, myself included, and its not that big of a deal.

You probably had some shitty things going on in your life at the time. I'm sorry. Unfortunately that is irrelevant to this thread though because Accutane cannot, and doesn't cause any kind of depression...
