yes but the notion of a 'safety-net' faith is such an absurd notion. what good is faith if you choose to ignore substantial feelings of doubt. ritual is just fluff if you don't have thorough faith in what you're doing. i'd think first and foremost if you had any sort of respect for your god, then you wouldn't treat it/him/she like the stupid denialistic parent of a truant adolescent...as if god would just turn its head and pretend like it doesn't know that you thoroughly doubt your ritual practices.

Evolution all makes sense to a degree, but for one thing. Where did that first cell come from? I mean, one second there is rocks and nothing and a baren planet, and the next a lifeform comes up and appears out of nowhere? How? If you take a rock and divide into a billion pieces, search right down to the absolute core of the rock, you won't find anything that even resembles a living creature. So where did those first cells come from? They couldn't have evolved out of rock. The only possible answer is creation.

The earth started out with CO, CO2, H2, N2, S, and HCl, but no O2. As the earth cooled, the gases condensed and formed water and minerals. UV radiation provided energy to form organic compounds out of inorganic compounds. Complex molecules such as acetic acid, formaldehyde, and amino acids formed... the basic building blocks of life and simple polymers.

Proteinoids are polypeptides that are dehydrated amino acids. Protobinonts are what developed into cells by being able to carry out chemical reactions across a boarder, cell membrane. Eventually they mutated into heterotrouphs that consumed organic material. As herterotrouphs increased, natural selection began to exist. As a result, autotrophs mutated into highly successful cells that could make their own food, aka plants. These new cells used light NRG and organic compounds to make food, and thus as an output, made oxygen. The UV rays and O2 reacted to make an ozone. Plants further developed from cyanobacteria. Humans eventually evolved also.. lol to make it simple. So in actuallity, all things were evolved from one type of prokaryotic cell, which was believed to be cyanobacteria?? I'm not positive about that.

Sorry if that isn't clear, and its mostly reviewed info I got from my sparknotes book. Tell me if I need to clear anything up.

15 billion years ago, theres a theory that an explosion of matter created the universe and also created many gases and elements essential to life. This came from neutrons, elections and protons all assembling in different orders and cooling into different isotopes and forms to make different elements. How the earth obtained these elements, well I really don't know and don't care to look it up.

 
Saying that "God" created everything is just an ignorant answer and an easy way to try to understand everything when its pretty much spelled out in science and philosophy. god. i'll never understand how people can possibly think that "we can't determine the core explanation for life, therefore god must exist" arguement has any logical credibility. we may not be able provide an answer for the basis matter creation, but two hundred years ago we had no understanding of disease. we may not be able to provide an explanation now, but we may be able to in the future. of course somethings are beyond our control, however that doesn't mean for a second that you can sloppily apply some grand sweeping assumption.

i can't explain it, therefore god must exist. its simply ridiculous.

Basically, people have argued about the existence of God for most of history, and neither side has been able to disprove the other argument. Trying to prove Gods existence is pointless. People dont start believing in God from someone trying to prove it to them, its about that persons own experiences with God and whether they choose to respond to him or not. Basically i myself know that God's existence is so blatent and there couldnt possibly not be a God, but thats due to my experiences. Ive witnessed and been a part of incredible stuff that just shouts in my face that God definatley exists, stuff like disabled people getting up out of their wheelchairs. What im saying is that no matter how hard you try, you cant prove God exists, you make a decision based on what you've seen and experienced. If you havent experienced God, its probably because you havent given him a chance.

 
Humans were bred by aliens in an experiment when humans were still apes, kinda like in the movie 2001. We evolved from that and multiplied to infest and slowly destroy the earth. The earth is made up of things that are either natural or man-made. Whatever is man-made is made from nature. I am a agnostic with atheist tendencies and I completely disagree with that. Some people need that security in their lives. Religion gives people purpose and meaning.

I don't feel the need to have religion in my life thus I don't practice. I'd rather seek truth and live in near nihlsm and see how far the spiral goes than answer my questions with "god works in mysterious ways."

I understand your statement from the perspective that religion has been a facade and a reason that many people in power have used in the past (and present) to justify seemingly wrongful acts. However, religion in itself is NOT inherently incorrect.

It's the misuse and manipulation of the masses and the followers by people in power that construes religion negatively.

I'm not sure I understand your doomsday idea that humans are destined to destroy the earth. The earth is going to be just fine. We're the ones who are going away if the planet collapses. It will purge US from the face of the earth and will revive itself.

Whether or not we come about again, that's a different story all together.
