i agree. that could have been the opportunity of a life time for an underrated skier. but wouldn't you do the same thing if you were them? if you were under pressure from sponsors to do the comp, but your career didn't hinge on the results, would you throw down on a sketchy course and risk your year? or would you just go through the motions, and save your body for the backcountry?
