i was thinking of switching my stock footbeds in my skiboots for some gel ones. is this a good idea or will it ruin my skiing?

No Props!

dude do it footbeds are the best thing you can do for your boots. The stock footbeds are absoutle crap there flat and have no support. With a footbed it gives you more support and its a lot more comforable

yah the stock ones suck, especially if your foot arch is messed up. i have custom cork ones they are so much better its crazy

Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?

Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fuck a

I have them if you flat feet the pressure of skiing slowy widen your feet makin it harder to keep you skis from crossing that what the guy who sold them said

They definitely help from what I'm told. I haven't been able to experience them yet since they are really expensive. The footbed that your ski boot came with is likely garbage. I have upgraded to a somewhat custom footbed however and would never touch the old one except to burn it. The key to footbeds are comfort and control. Custom footbeds position your foot right, whereas stock footbeds don't encourage that. If you have the money, do it.

gel footbeds are gonna be a bad idea, because they arent gonna give you the arch support you need. go to a shop and get a custom footbed made. its definately worth it.

yeah a custom footbed was one of the best investments and was so worth it

Equipment is expensive, and i need lots of new stuff, i love being a poor college student!!!!

I don;t think gel footbeds are available for ski boots but they would mess up your control anyway. If you're concerned about shock absorbsion then standard custom footbeds will help a lot because they cradle your heel, meaning the fat pad under it stays there instead of speading out like it would on a flat footbed.

you could just put them in over your old foot beds for better fit

Dude I live by My DOctor Sholls inserts in my boots...lots of heel padding...saves your ass when you overshoot too

maybe your ski shop. if not, check out an outdoor store that sells hiking boots. someone should have the setup and training to make customs. i picked up custom superfeet a couple years back and it helped huge with shin bang. expect to pay upwards of $100.

Gel would give you sloppy control and who cares about 1cm of padding on a bad landing. Superfeet cork or heated is cheap and way better than stock.

I got custome foot beds in mine man they make the world of a difference, sick supporst and twice the cushioning and there molded to the shape of your foot so you have all the control and some

Custom foot beds were by far the best thing i have ever purchased for skiing period. Don't go cheap and get cheap slip-ins or whatever, get them custom molded.
