Football (soccer) its becoming ridiculous

And City are doing what they need to do in order to make the champions league next season. Should they achieve this, a lot of star players may even want to go play for them.

They made all those offers on the trade deadline, knowing full well most would be rejected. There's no way all of those star player's were going to be signed with less than one day of consideration from their teams. They were lucky that Robinho was already disrupted and Madrid were eager to sell; but obviously they overpaid.

I'm trying to find a complete list of all the signings that were made since Roman took over Chelsea. This is the most up to date I've found so far (many of the newer signing have been left out so Ill just add them myself). I'm only highlighting the star signings.

Paulo Fereira

Ricardo Carvalho

Assier Del Horno

Tiago

Michael Essien

Shaun Wright-Phillips

Didier Drogba

Mateja Kezman

Veron

Adrian Mutu

Hernan Crespo

Petr Cech

Arjen Robben

Claude Makelele

Damien Duff

Geremi

Joe Cole

Didier Drogba

Michael Ballack

Andriy Shevchenko

Deco

Baswinga

Is it just me, or does that seem a little above average?

Trust me, it's just you. Are you trying to say that's a lot of signings since 2003? Because it's not. I don't see how your trying to rationalize the fat dude in Dubai playing FIFA with real players. I'm guessing you're either a City fan or a bitter Arse, not even the Scouse or Mancs are this dumb.

Are you really going to be so stubborn to not admit Chelsea have had an unfair advantage in signing as many big name players as they like since Roman took over? All of UEFA was up in arms about how he was playing fantasy manager with all his signings. I just find it ironic that you think City's new wealth is unfair.

I've looked up the star signings Man U have made in that time period(let me know if I left any out). Please take the time to notice that the list is considerably smaller.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Louis Saha

Alan Smith

Gabriel Heinze

Wayne Rooney

Van der Sar

Vidic

Evra

Michael Carrick

Tevez

Nani

Berbatov

That's about half as many as Chelsea.

Two things here...

First: I'm not saying what City is/will be doing is unfair, I'm saying it's ridiculous. You can't compare what City is threatening to do with what Chelsea did, it's wayyyyyy more extreme. I'll leave it at that for now, I'm tired.

Second:

I did in fact notice your list of filthy Manc scum is considerably smaller. I wonder why? For one, unlike the Chelsea list you omitted shit players (Kezman, Del Horno, Veron, etc.). Secondly, you also omitted great players from it (Larsson, Anderson, Ferdinand, etc.). Now then, could you be the biased one here?

yea the money is ridiculous but its nice to see that a lot of the big names are stepping up and saying they will not go to city, no matter how much they offer. nice to know that its not all about the money for some people. the real problem is that new wealthy owners like this put huge amounts of pressure on other teams in the league that may already be facing money problems. how long can they last?

i think maybe you should take yourself into a corner and calm down abit, its not big, its not clever and you just sound like a prick

dude what are you talking about? Ive seen it in every league, in the world cup, in Euro 2008 Im pretty sure there not all italian league players and South American players
