Footage of a shark attack

sharks are our friends, theyre more afraid of us than we should be of them, when i was little i wanted to be a shark expert.
 
i saw the whole show of this clip and i guess he was standing there cause it was for research or maybe he was filming something for the discovery channel but if you watch the show he explains how he had someone watching the sharks from outside of the water and he was calling out their positions and one of the sharks got behind him and they didnt spot him until it was too late. its not like the guy didnt know what he was doing
 
Yeah, i remember watching this during shark week a couple years ago. Basically what you said, they were filming for a show or a documentary or something and the shark got behind him and grabbed his calf. They showed his leg a few years later, there's no meat on the bone it's weird
 
wrong, I saw the show too. He says he's going to deliberately get bit so they can view the way sharks attack. He wants to get bit and does.
 
so the story goes that this guy was trying to prove a theory for sharkweek that sharks will not act hostile if you remain calm. he has taken several steps to achieving "calmness" (such as practicing yoga) and enters the water, controlling his heart rate (some sea species can sense prey's heart beating- such as sawsharks). and, well... you see what happened. on sharkweek.
