Foot Bed for Full Tilts

In terms of comfort and to prevent foot movement, do you guys think i should get the heat molded orthodic foot bed for the new Full Tilts?
 
Really depends on your specific foot, but I have had a lot of success with ALINE footbeds in Full Tilts. I molded Wallisch up last year with a pair and he was really stoked on them. They can go inside the liner or underneath the liner and have the liners baked over them. The latter option is what I did for Tom and he was pretty psyched on the result.
 
we dont even sell full tilts in our shop, their shell sizing is all out of whack

we do make Sida Conformable footbeds though, they are pretty damn amazing. i really suggest them. in the last 6 or 7 pairs of boots i've sold, they were all sold with the fully custom footbeds and not a single person was unhappy
 
Yeah Sidas are pretty much the best footbeds out there. I have done plenty of them for full tilts. Superfeet Korks work ok too but are generally too high volume so you need to grind alot of kork away to get them in the liner. THere the only two footbeds i would recomend for full tilts. Dont buy a non custom either they really are a waste of money. Often with full tilts its a good idea to get the footbed first then try it into the boots. The liners do not have insoles in them so you will instantly change the volume when you put in a footbed. Personally I would not recomend putting the footbed under the liner as you will not get a the same level of support as you would having it next to the foot.
 
Have you tried it? It skis suprisingly well, been doing it for over 4 years now for people. Plus, even if you put any insole inside an Intuition liner, it will still not be super supportive since it's resting on soft foam. It will still shift internally. It's one of my big issues with any Intuition liner currently on the market. Without giving away the show, we're working on a killer Intuition liner for next year that solves so many problems.
 
The reson I do not like to put the footbed beneath the liner is that it will most lickly crease the liner. The footbed sits inside the liner and fills up to the sides. If you put it in the shel,l on the boot board chances are the liner can not locate properly around the sides of the foot. This could cause the liner to bunch up around the instep potenially damaging the liner, and causing pressure points on the navicular bone. The outher issue is that the footbed is on average 2cm shorter then the shell so unless you glue the footbed to the bootboard you can not be sure that it is sitting correctly under the liner.

I agree that full tilts dont work to well as they are soft in the base, so you cant get a proper alignment of the foot. This is why I still recomend the standard liner or a comformable liner over intuions. But hopefully as you say maybe they will make some inprovments to the liners in the futrue.
 
the crazy thing is it doesn't do this. I've done this to literally hundreds of FTs, Scarpas, Garmonts, etc and it works great. Most footbeds need to be trimmed to fit inside the liner, you just don't need to trim off as much and they sit locked in the shell.

But the ideal solution is coming ;) It sounds like you work in a shop, perhaps? If you are going to be at SIA this year, swing by the Atomic booth and check out our new Intution liner. It sounds like you'll really dig it.
 
In response to the OP, I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and way over pronate, so I've gotten to know a lot about boot fitting. If you aren't goinng to get a custom bed, ALINE is the best option. I was just at a shop at Stratton called Startingate(race shop) because my sister needed new boots. and they put her in new atomic race boots and got an ALINE bed to replace her custom that know longer fit. The owner said that SMS racers were just starting to use ALINE beds because of how well thy work, and they cost $30 vs. $150. My sister loves them. However, ALINEs do not work for feet like mine. In my exprience, they don't mold to my super high arches too well, so ALINE is for somewhat "normal" feet. But I did feel an wesome powr transfer when using them. The guy at the shop actually does not like selling them because h would rather charge $100 extra to make custom footbeds!
 
I just bought Full Tilt liners for my Rampages & was wondering if I should use a foot-bed. I thought with FT's you dont have to use one.
 
Apologies for thread jacking.

I currently have a footbed in my liner. Would it still work if I took it out and placed it under the liner or would I need to re-mould or whatever for the footbed to work?
