Foil or volkl dogen

i have demoed the foil and loved it but knowing that it has won the x-games it will be ridden by every newbie...so i am wondering if the dogen is any good.

Umm both of those skis suck, and you have to be more specific. All mountain or only park?

oh, sorry-a ski for pow but still manage to ski the east. i have a pair of dynastar candide(my main ski). i demoed the foil last season in the east coast and it rips even though they are massive. i will be riding mostly park in the east till i go to bc in march. i know for sure my candide will sink like a rock in the fluffy stuff, that is why i am looking for a new bigger ski. have anyone demoed or rode either ski, i want a real answer as appose to 'they suck cause it's foam core' or 'it's not line', etc

Volkl is getting better year to year, and the dimensions on the dogen look pretty good. Far better than the expressions without a doubt. Both skis will accompany the east, however if you are looking at some powder as well, then the foil might be a better bet, because correct me if i'm wrong but it is sizeably large? I don't have the specs infront of me

yea, the foil is bigger than the dogen. i have demoed the foil before and it still rips on hard pack snow, but i just want a ski that not many ppl have. so i wonder if the performance of the dogen compareable to the foil.

i dont think the foil is massive its only 84 or 85 at the waist if you want massive try prophets,im under 5 feet and my skis are 80 at the waist, you shouldn't be concerned with width unless they are above 90, then its only a problem if your on the east coast, but i also havn't skied really fat skis

I'm not short, I'm just vertically challenged.

oh no, i don't want massive since i will be skiing east coast mostly. they are just the fattest ski i have ever skied on since the pr. i just want to know if the dogen is heavy or not.

The foil's are really sick, they should be able to handle powder pretty while. IMO

foils are made by salomon so they are obviously gonna suck.

from my past experience with volkl twins, they seem heavy. the foils are a little heavier than the old 1080s, but the construction is a little beefier too, except for salomons bastardly skinny edges. if it werent for the skinng edges, i'd be getting a pair. my 1080s have all of 2 feet of edge left between both skis.

lol jon knows!...yea foils are another 1080 basically...id pick a all mtn skis such as a line mother ship, or a armada arv....just me tho

I wish i was a gangster

dogens are produced in China and come off a similar mold to last years PE. This is by no means a solid robust twin.

so woolfy, what you are saying is that the dogen is not gonna be any good compare to the foil? i demoed the foil and they rock, amazing ski...don't know about their durability due to it's foam core.
