It is a hybrid this year.

It's tough to be a company, claiming your foam composite cores are the sickest, but then realize true wood cored dominate, and then all of a sudden in one year switch. It's just showing you were wrong, and most companies ego's are too large to admit that, so they slowly work into the wood core area. In a year or two I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them making all wood cores.

I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two(ok so 5 or 6) they were making a composite core that was superior to the wood core, the composites exist its just applying them to skis, and keeping the performance up over a long period of time that they seem to be having trouble with. Eventualy im sure all skis will end up being made with synthetic cores because they will be surperior once the production techniques get solid enough. Being able to produce a core that reacts exactly the way you want it to is something you can do with synthetics, and something you can only come close to with wood/bamboo.

the foam core is still good, i demod them at app nc, and they are awsome, but i went with the PE..

The problem most people have with the foam isnt performance its the long term durability.

foam core suck because you can't get an edge on hardpack/ice and they blow out too easily

Answer: No, they're made with a new "crappy" foam called polymethacrylimide (PMI).
