Ice it up and lay it down in a nice flat area and just start seshing and having fun with it. 2x4's are the optimal learning experience. This isn't a joke like I'm telling you to try it out it actually does wonders 4 ur ski game. Start skiing on a 2x4 and you'll notice a massive improvement in your skiing and abilities.
