Foam Core V.S. Wood Core

Obviously a wood core is more durable, but how durable would a foam core ski be versus a wood core? Are they any lighter? I just want to know about how long a foam core ski would last in comparison to one with a wooden core. thanks.

i only weigh 100 or 105 lbs and im about 5ft 7in and i plan to be hitting rails, going over jumps, skiing groomers, and alot of trees that will probably have thin cover.

with what i've heard foam core is definitely lighter but has the tendency to warp after a while. if you're planning on using it for a year or so then it shouldn't warp but if you wanna use it for multiple years than it could. and i have used wood core skis and i like them a lot really poppy and still pretty darn light.

Pretty much all new skis are gonna have wood cores. It was a little bit of a fad when twin tips started coming out but they dont do that anymore really. So, if your getting new skis they are pretty much all gonna be wood core. With that said, dont buy foam anyways. They wont last long at all and really dont give you much benefit at all.

wood lasts much longer, but foam core skis have wayyyyy more pop in my experiences, but again, fail to outlast wood cores. overall, wood wins.

i have some 04 solly teneighties that ive skied 30 days a year since i got them in 2005... 160 pounds and this past year they lost their camber and have very little pop...but they are light as crap... now i just use them for when it hasnt snowed in forever and there are a bunch of rocks

Foam is very light, but in most cases loses camber and pop after not that much skiing. Wood is heavier, but much more durable and stays the same for much longer. If you are light, or are considering foam because you can get a good deal on a pair with foam cores somewhere maybe, then i would say go for it. I had a pair of foam teneighties last me for 3 years fairly well. Its all in preference i guess...

No its the crocodile wants to eat the bigger number because its more filling (how would the small number eat the big one?).I used to always make sure I added teeth to my crocodiles. And an eye if I was feeling creative.

ummmmmmm sir the invaders have a MAPLE macroblock wood core. last time i checked maple is a tree and you get wood from trees. even the mini invader has a wood core.
