FML iPhone mistake

just got an email from AT&T saying Hey, you should totally upgrade to Unlimited Messaging!
So, checked my usage - 20 days into a 28 day billing cycle, i've used 1627 of 1500 allowed texts ... whoops. here comes the big nasty bill.
yes, that's a cool story.
 
usually they will let you upgrade to the unlimited shit for the month you went over on. Verizon did that for me at least...
 
I'm pretty sure AT&T is actually really cool about this stuff, and if you upgrade to unlimited texting, they will retroactively apply it to this month's bill.

I remember because my dad used shit loads of data when we were in canada, and his bill was going to be like $300-something but they allowed him to buy a temporary internationaly plan and retroactively put it into place, and didnt make him pay the ridiculous overages.
 
I'm not really worried about it. a) yes, AT&T is pretty cool and i'll call them tomorrow. last time they gave me about 1000 free rollover minutes. and b) there's nothing i can do about it now.
 
While in Ireland a few years ago, I used a shit ton of data and it's so expensive over there (it probably came out to about 2000$ in data) and AT&T were going to make us pay but instead they let us purchase like a 50$ international data plan, so it was all good! you'll probably be fine
 
epic win, story update, i charmed little miss ATT into retroactively switching me to unlimited, boom $5 total charge and i'm golden.
