Flying with ski boots not in a bag

Yo quick question,

My buddies and i are going to tahoe today (6 foot storm yeeew!) and on of my pals doesn't have a boot bag. It it fine to carry on / check boots without a bag?

just carry them on/strap them to your carryon backpack.

yea its fine, if you have a regular sized carry on just carry the boots over your shoulder as a "personal item" and store up top or at your feet for the flight

Yup, I have taken them as a personal item several times, but I find it more convenient to clip them to the outside of my carryon with carabiners

Get a big reusable shopping bag so it has a better handle and you can stick a magazine or something else in there too if you want. My boots are not so comfortable to carry a long ways with just the strap.

For sure carry them on. You don't want some weirdo doing whatever they want with your boots under the plane.
