Flying with ski bag on Southwest

Has anyone flown Southwest with a big two ski bag? I'm considering picking up the Oakley O Ski Box for travel. I always try to fly southwest because they don't charge extra for skis, but I'm thinking with a bag that big they might. Anyone have an experience with this?

I have flown with southwest with skis multipul times, and you just have to make sure it is under 50lbs. if not you have to pay overweight. Not a big deal, they will go to the oversized landing area for you to pick up. I don't know how many skis you are brining but I always use a four pair burrito bag and it works great. good luck

As long as it's under 50lbs it's free, and you can have a boot bag for free as well.

But take the boots as carry on.

I check my skis, check my duffel, have a backpack as carry on, and boots as personal item. Never have had to pay for checking anything. Southwest is the tits. Flying home for Christmas is easy!
