Flying with alcohol post-yesterday...

So I'm going to college the 17th and was planning on bringing roughly a handle of vodka in water bottles, kept in my carry-on, for the period before I meet some older friends. This was all fine and good until some jackasses decided to try and blow up a plane using goddamn liquids. Even if it isn't explosive, they will check it, and being 17 that wouldn't go over so well. Especially with my super hardcore anti-drinking mother.

So... can I stick 'em in my checked luggage? Will they check them in there? I probably sound wicked paranoid and people probably do it all the time without a hitch, in fact, airlines even let you do it, but... being 17 and all, would they take a closer look at bottles in my checked luggage, especially given recent events? Your thoughts.
 
well the FFA checks bags if they look suspicious, especially if its abnormally heavy does that help?
 
if you put it in your checked bags they'll check it out especially if you have 10 bottles but they wont tell your mom or anything. i think if i were you id jsut wait till college to get some, im sure you can find shit out there.
 
A handle fits in four water bottles, but yeah... I guess it's not worth it. Fucking terrorists, my first day with my new roommate was gunna be dope, and they ruined it. Cocksuckers.
 
On a lighter and hugely off-topic note, my super hardcore anti-drinking mom made me see a drinking counselor for coming home blackout drunk a few months ago. Just now she came in and grounded me until I go to college for missing my drinking counselor appointment the other day because, oh sweet irony, I was at a party and when I woke up, decided it would be dangerous for me to drive there because I was still drunk.
 
yeah dude, what a fucking waste of time... besides the fact that u could like get caught and shit, what a waste of time just buy a handle when u get there if u want it.
 
if you put it in your luggage it doesnt matter because even if they find it they arent going to check how old you are because they check thousands of bags and will probably assume you are over 21
 
Yeah, just leave it in the vodka bottle and check it. The TSA people don't know how old you are when they're going through your bag. I did it a bunch with beer when I was underage.
 
I have some cuban cigars to fly in the US, just for a night, but i gotta figure out how they arent gonna find out or break them, if anybody knows
 
Well if youre only flying within the US, you should be fine. Even if you had it in its original bottle. Don't worry about it. And hey, I'm flying to/from London in just a few days. Just when they were supposed to blow the planes up!
 
Ouch, that's scary as shit haha... given how incompetent law enforcement's proven to be in the past few years, you should feel damn lucky they managed to get something right when it was your ass on the line =).
 
buy a package of water bottles, and replace one of the bottles in the package with your vodka, and then they would probably only check one of the bottles too make sure its clean
 
just keep it all in your mouth, you know if they ask you a question kindof gurgle hahahah then once you get there you can swallow it. perfect plan. PERFECT.
 
if your going to bring alcohol on a plane, make sure to leave it IN THE ORIGINAL BOTTLE, any unmarked liquids are confiscated, I.E. vodka in a waterbottle. if you leave it in the bottle that it was sold in, still sealed you'll be fine
 
Are you guys serious? Its alchol its not illegal, but it in your checked bag in the bottle it came in. They dont know that the bag belongs to a 17 year old when/ if they open it up and look in it. Its not illegal to bring alcohol with you on a trip. Its not that hard to figure out!

i just got back from a trip to california and they took my lighter and told me to drink a sip out of all my drink to make sure it wasnt a bomb or some shit like that
 
Dude i've checked a fucking bomb in my luggage, an m-80 AKA a 1/4 stick of dynamite. i've also left a bag of weed in the open in my bag AND it was checked by the FAA or whatever, and it was fine. I know it was checked because they left me a nice little flyer right next to my bag of weed. NO trouble AND they didn't even pinch!

I'd say go for it, but if you want just go soulder tapping, and take it from a pro alchohol is NOT AT ALL hard to find on a college campus.
 
def not illegal to fly with alcohol. just make sure u wrap it cause they throw those bags around and ur bottle might break.  
 
i got my cubans in no prob. we have a trade embargo w/ cuba so we cant buy cubans in the US there is nothing wrong with buying them in a dif country. theyre not illegal unless youre trying to sell them.
 
I turn 18 on the 1st of September, my parents sent me to kindergarten when I was 5, not 6... didn't skip or anything, that's for damn sure haha. Well if the airlines don 't care if it's in the original bottle, my mom sure will... maybe I'll just leave it at home, but we'll see...
 
dude, seriously... I give you 2 hours before you find a way to buy booze. I guarentee you that everyone else will be looking too. You will have no problems finding any, and the fun thing about vodka is that it doesnt go bad. That means youll have some at home when you get back for thanksgiving or christmas and you wanna get shitfaced with your hometown boys, and you wont have to go through the trouble of finding someone to buy for you.
