i love fly fishing. i go out tons but this year i probably won't because of the drought in denver. i'm getting pretty good at it but damn their is so much skill involved

no better way to spend a summer afternoon than wading out in greys river in wy... just casting, regardless of weather you catch anything or not... its pretty relaxing if you ask me...

yeah i've been fly fishing since i was like 10. i would say its more of an art than a sport though. anyone else here tie their own flies or make their own rods?

I think I'm gonna get a rod and real tommorow. Any one got any good advice on what to get for cheap for a beginner.

ive always wanted too..ive got tons of access...so maybe this summer being layed up and all ill start...ive also always wanted to make my own wooden spear and catch fish that way...its illegal but ive always wanted to do it

i used to live in calgary out west, bow river= amazing flyfishing, i have been doin it since i was a kid, i love it. now i live in shitty old ottawa

yeah i fish up the deshutes all summer. Fly fishing is so relaxing. Ive attemtes to tie a bit but i suck at it. My dad ties a lot though.

(trust me, the '' things aren't actually there)

 
i have been fly fishing for like 13 years its awsome..... rawr. caugt a 35 pound salmon on a fly rod thats fun.

i lovvveeee fly fishing. and whoever said yellowstone has the best fly fishing in the world is wrong, because alaska has the best fly fishing/overall fishing in the world although i have fished yellowstone and its pretty dope, they have some big ol' cutthroats and such. up here we have so much stuff and HUGE rainbows and HUGE steelehead and every salmon you can imagine, except the stupid atlantic salmon which isn't even a real fish. and grayling, ooohhhh the grayling. and so much more, and the scenery is amazing and i just love it, soooo many undiscovered streams and its so peaceful. man i can't wait to go fishing. oh and to the guy who is looking for a rod, just look at a cabelas catalog or the website and yull find a good priced rod, they have a ton. my grandpa got me a 5 peice for xmas from cabelas, i love it, breaks down and fits so nicely on and in packs, real light, real strong, lots of life in it too. i was going to be a guide this summer out in illiamna but it fell through.

fly fishing is the way to do it. i have been tying and all that for a few years, and have been around fishing. i still think that nothing in the west can beat michigan during a good hex hatch.
