i know in rollerblading companies hand out flow sponserships

i was wondering what ski companies do flow sponserships

and if you sent a promo or sponser me vid could you post it

^^no he meant like companies give you stuff and encourage you to improve but dont advertise you or put you on their official team, generally what is done when "raw talent" is discovered

I dont think too many companies would do a "flow" sponsorship. Main reason being that ski stuff is wayyyy more expensive than skate stuff

almost any company does flow sponsorships. but they are way competaive for some companies. i mean zach d and sean f are flow for armada. but i think that smith isnt too hard. that most teams have like 5 teams. starting with gassroots and ending with international

like i roomed with a kid who said he was flow for line

i kinda beleived him cuz he had lines and a line backpack and ski bag

and he said for his promo he had 5s backflips and i think mistys or rodeos

im hoping to get a promo good enoth to get flow something

you know the rep. He likes you. You show him youve got some talent and are a real nice guy. You ask him if your video was sick and if you could maybe start getting some flow or work out a deal in that sort of matter. He says word! then you begin to get free gear from the rep!

You have to somehow have a conversation with a rep from the company. pretty much you should know them on a first name basis and they should see you ski. If you are good enough they might flow you. If you suck, you'll know a reps name and maybe they'll give you a proform card.

no how do you find a rep, just by chance?

do you think i could get a flow sponsership through a shop?

You have to work at a store, know someone at a store, or they see you at the mtn. You probobly shouldnt be getting flowed if your not getting noticed.

get a job at a ski shop, and you'll meet people, and reps from companies when they do product knowledge meetings and stuff like that.

Flow means that you are getting free stuff and thats it, it is the difference between being a pro skier and being a sponsored skier, Take example a) most guys on the K2 am team get flow and the occasional photo bonus, Stefan thomas was getting this and blew up and k2 didnt payhim shit so he told them to jump and now he rides for nordica, Alot of big moountain guys only get flow too. Ski companies are stingy they dont pay people what they deserve.

well i ski alta

and it is kinda hard to get noticed skiing alta i guess

i was kinda counting on a tape

i think the 2 best things you can do are A0 work at a shpo so you can get to know people, and B) compete and win as many contests as you can. there is probably going to be at least one rep at any given contest, and if you do well enough he will probably come talk to you. just get your name out there. ive heard that companies pretty much look at tapes for 2 seconds and then just trash them unles they are incredible. i dont know for sure, but i really dont think a tape would help that much.

and if you ski at alta you shouldnt want sponsorships because then you would have to ride with icky snowboarders

you just have to get contact...and to show you can reprezent the compagny you wear to the rest of your local montain. get to know the reps.

virtually every company does flow sponsorships.

have you never met anyone who's sponsored but not advertised?

i'm guessing you don't know many skiers.

since you live in tex-ass (this is will, your hn roommate),

you would have a good shot at getting flowed, just as long as you do it through the SOUTHERN rep, and not the yewtaw(utah) rep......

To answer your question yes they do. I had one through Dynastar the past two years. They didn't call it a flow sponsorship though. They gave it to me for promoting our sport positively, and being invovative.

In other words they gave me free skis for two years because they felt bad for me at how much I sucked hahahaha. If you really want to get some gear and improve start competing in small jams and comps. Honest to god you will win one. I won two last year with nothing more then a 270 on, and got some sick swag.
