is there anything good to do down there? i'm goin down there tonite for band n i was just wonderin if there was stuff to do near orlando

Nothing really except Disney World, $7 bottles of water, and a bunch annoying tourists. I saw the Cirque du Soleil when I was down there though, and that shit was amazing.

if your into wakeboarding orlando water park looks pretty illin. its a big pond with wakeboard hits like rails and shit. no boat though, they just tow you across with a winch.

I'm from Central Florida and have to go back home to Florida on the 1st. Ask me anything!

Island's of Adventure is fucking awesome.

Universal Studios is fucking awesome.

Disney World is awesome.

There are outlets everywhere - International Drive is pretty cool.

Seaworld...ehhh...I haven't been there in a decade. I hear there are some rad coasters.

The Florida mall is huge and cool.

Cocoa Beach is rad, and Kelly Slater is from there.

Cape Canaveral is cool.

Ask me anything though...good restaurants, etc.

surfing, wakeboarding, I hear the night life is illin, all those places listed above, and SHOPPING

I dunno about y'all but shit in canada is expensive as fuck, so thats what I do when I go to the states, no homo

Yahh, definitely check out Cirque du Soleil. I've seen 6 or 7 of em, it's fucking amazing.

The one down Orlanda is La Nouba, one of the best I've seen.. I've actually seen La Nouba twice, haha!

I'm going down on the 5th. My brothers are on spring break so my parents decided to take them down then (I'm in college). So I decided to skip 3 days of class and fly down there for 5 days haha can't wait, gonna be nice to get some warm days.

aren't the hobgoods from there too? There is plenty of stuff to do down there...shit my entire family is packing up and moving down to Cocoa Beach...except I'm going the opposite direction to AK...

Hobgoods?

Here is some restaurant stuff I use whenever I go to Orlando.

The Bob Marley restaurant at Universal Studios City Walk is rad if you are a Marley fan.

Emeril has a restaurant at Universal, and so does Jimmy Buffet.

There are also some really cool clubs on the Walk.

At Disney (Disney is my favorite) I usually go to Bongo's. It's a Cuban restaurant owned by Gloria Estefan and I love it. I think I was Cuban in a past life. HAHAHA! Love it so much.

Wolfgang Puck's is there, it's ALWAYS good.

Don't go to the Rain Forest Cafe, it sucks.

The House of Blues has good burgers and steaks. I mostly go there for the art though.

Virgin Records is fucking huge.

I don't know if you like cigars, but there is an excellent humidor across from Bongo's.

Oh, the movie theater there is cool too. Digital Sound. I saw Lord of the Ring's: Return of the King and Star War's: Revenge of the Sith, so much more awesome in digital sound.

There is also a Lego store there. I

For the Disney stuff, are you talking about that like...city place they have? With like the ESPN zone and Virgin and stuff? Where is Bongo's located on that stretch? I'm curious to see this humidor..

I know it's a bit late to give advice to the original poster, but I'll comment anyway because I lived and worked in Orlando for about half of last year.

If you're trying to not spend a ton of money (hard to do in that part of Florida)...stay the hell away from both Disney and Universal. International Drive would be your best bet because there is a ton of variety.

On a side comment...why would you go to Walt Disney World to eat at chain restaurant that you can find in any city (though Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney is actually pretty good)? If you are looking for real good places to eat on Disney property, try Artist Point or the California Grill. If you're in one of the parks, each has several good places, Epcot has at least half-a-dozen really good restaurants.

If you are a tourist you eat on park property otherwise you really don't except for my family.

House of Blues, Puck's and Bongo's are on the same stretch at Downtown Disney which is on the same road right past the entrance of MGM Studios (now called Disney Studios).

Disney's Boardwalk has the ESPN bar which has an entrance to Epcot and The Yacht Club hotel is there.

My absolutely most favorite restaurant is Bier Garten in Epcot's Germany. It's all you can eat German food! YAY!

Biergarten is so dank, especially when you can get the big stains of beer. As a matter of fact, I actually worked for Disney and have eaten at every place on property. Victoria & Albert's is actually my favorite place on property, but its not like I can eat at a five diamond, $180+ per person meal often. Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge would be my next choice (far less expensive to boot).

Biergarten is fucking awesome. But I have to say that my Saurbraten is better. LOL.

Is that the one with the huge Western Mural on the wall? I absolutely love the Wilderness Lodge. It reminds me of Colorado, but nothing beats Colorado. HAHA!

I was on a business trip in Orlando last November and I wish I could of stayed longer. Last time I had gone was when I was like 10 and only stayed in Disney.

I got to go around the city a bit and there seems to be SO much stuff to do. I wanna go back down with my GF or buddies or something.

One night, a company had a party at this place called Wonderworks. The outside of this place looks amazing; it's basically an upside down museum. Inside there an insane arcade with laser tag and we had an open bar.

What you HAVE to do is go to Howl at the Moon one night. It's a bar on International Drive. I had never been to any place like it. It really is the funnest bar, I went there 4 nights in a row (mornings were brutal).

I've been to Wonderworks. It's pretty dank.

Have you ever been to Race Rock? Now that place it awesome. Sucks that they shut it down though.

Oh, really? I didn't know that, but makes sense since they have the "geysers" out back. HAHA! I just like to go in there and sit actually, and it smells like the West even. I've never stayed there though which is kind of gay, but eating there isn't bad. They fly salmon in fresh from AK daily which is kind of cool. I want to go eat there so bad now.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is quite epic, too. I walked outside onto the deck and there was a fucking giraffe 5 feet in front of me.

I also like the Yacht Club, the Contemporary and the Floridian. Did you know they each room in the Contemporary was brought in by helicopter? Fucking genius.

My grandparents have stayed in the contemporary before. We met them there to eat lunch. That place is fucking ridiculous.

I'm personally not a big fan of the Contemporary. The architectural look hasn't aged very well and there is a lot of empty space that makes it obvious that its functionality has been scaled back from the days when it was the only hotel on property. It's just to...70's.

The Yacht Club and the Grand Floridian are by far the classiest places on property. In terms of overall theming, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Polynesian are the best. Port Orleans is kinda nifty too.

That's what's cool about it though, it's stuck in the 70s. HAHA!

I really don't like the Polynesian. I find it annoying. They need to make a hotel like the Tower of Terror. That would be so sick.

i was in the florida keys 2 weeks ago for spring break. sailing, fishing, snorkeling, living it up.

No go skiing instead its a fucking hell hole here. Unless your in jacksonville in which case pm me cuz I have the best backyard ski set up in the state. At least i think so there rnt too many ppl here that freeski...

Damn I didnt even know there was hills in florida? Esspecially ones that big! Lucky, even though Im a yankee id still rather live out in the middle of nowhere then suburbia...

we lived on the boat and the marina was on...i don't remember. we sailed to Boce Grande and stayed a night on Little Palm Island, where we saw some of the endangered Key Deer. basically just mini-white tails.
