Flipping Smart Cars in San Francisco

Jeeps? Really? They actually get places. Unlike 95%of hybrids. I don't know about you, bit I literally could not get home if I didn't own a 4wd vehicle in the winter. And neither could most of my town. Nor could I go anywhere to hike, climb etc. I couldn't take bikes, my kayaks, haul my boat, or haul anything.

Hummers though....those things are a strait up dickshow.

I drive a manual transmission Suzuki SX-4 and it has 4WD and AWD and has never had trouble in snow. Honestly, most cars can get most places as long as there's a good driver behind the wheel and you've got the right tires on them. This argument is dumb. Other than hauling things, as long as you learn how to drive you'll be ok.

...and coal trains don't exist in California because the burning of coal isn't allowed in the state.

If only it were. Now all excess US coal (which is a fuck-ton) gets shipped to China where it's burned without barely any eco-regulations, heavily poluting the air.

They used to do this with beetles back in the day, all the time...

but seriously, SF residents should get some of these.

can we just take a minute to look at the sti in the background?

I think everyone is missing THE point of Smartcars. they are small and can fit in the tiniest parking spots. Parking sucks in SF and other big cities, so being able to park in that 6 ft of curb between 2 driveways that is about 1/3 the size of my 4runner is pretty damn sweet.

Thats the benefit of them. And its a huge benefit.

On the otherhand, i have an overwelming urge to gently sideswipe them on the freeway just to see if they will tip over. Not cause i hate them, but for the same intrinsic reason i want to pull pigtails when they are infront of me.

4wd has power going to both wheels at all times. AWD has power going to both only when it senses slipping. I think? I could be completely wrong. Idk my Dakota has both 4wd and AWD.

A couple of years ago it was a trend in Amsterdam to toss Smart´s in the canals.

In Amsterdam they make total sense though, the city's streets are so narrow and condensed.

And you can always find a parking spot with a Smart:

if youre doing this, it's time to get a fucking job or hobby that fills your time with something half productive

people's hate towarsds smart/hybrid cars is so juvenile i can't even wrap my head around it. "ha-ha guys, that car is small and uses less gas! a truck commercial told me that's gay!"

The issue I have with smart cars is that they're highly unsafe. If you get into a collision going 30 with a pick up youre gonna get seriously injured. But i do understand how parking in san francisco is tight and thats the best way to get around besides bike

I've been in a rubicon before...

The seats are stiff and it guzzled gas. If I'm gonna be spending that much on something for offroad, I'm gonna buy a truck, not a jeep that I can deck out and post pictures of on my instagram. They're grossly overrated vehicles that just don't have any place other than as a novelty for going to moab and sucking the dust of all the other idiots driving them. But whatever, if you like being "that guy" then buy all the jeeps you like

I don't own a jeep, my dad does. But jeeps can bring you anywhere you want.. I really don't see why you're hating on jeeps dude haha. They're great in the snow which is what we need because I live on a dirt road that is sketchy in the winter. Trucks are cool too, currently saving up for one.
