i was just wondering if anyone has one and if they using it for skiing footage

would it be good enough to make a small edit with on my macbook?

thanks alot

+k for help

It certainly will work and record decentish footage, but just remember that you get what you pay for. The lens and sensor on a filp cam are of much lower quality on a flip cam than they are on a regular camcorder. The other large downside is that the camera is small and designed to be held vertically, which is going to leave you with very shakey footage, even if you have a pretty steady hand. Those are just some things to think about. My advice would be to check out some HD footage from the Flip Ultra on youtube, and see if it meets the quality that you are aiming to achieve. if so, go nuts.

thanks guys

+k for both

yeah i know about that hack thats what i mentioned above

and the quality looks ok, i just want to have something to make an edit of me skiing that will look ok

would it being annoyingly shaky?

in the manner where i will need a tripod for the edit to look ok?

thanks

You'll get crazy jello cam effect if you try to ski and shoot at the same time. Even when you stand still, it's still tough to avoid jello with these small cams.

That being said, screw the flip cams, they suck. Check out the Kodak Zx1, way better. Or, the new Kodak Zi8, it looks pretty cool.
