Post your Flickr accounts for people to critique and give new photo ideas.

I'm really in a slump right now, Saskatchewan isnt exactly the most amazing of places especially in the spring, it's just dead and boring so I was hoping for some inspiration and ideas as well as critique for my Flickr, this is my first year in photography

Hey, followed you. I like the boarding shots and the star trails and "whisps" - The contrast of the hard roof lines and smooth clouds is good.

Hey man I really like your style! Your work is pretty amazing especially your newer work, all I would suggest is only sharing your best work, I mean it's all good but there are many pictures of the same jeep on the same day in a row, just post your fav shot of the day and maybe another of its a completely different shot, other than that keep shooting! Really pleasing pictures.

ah yeah good point. My main reasoning for that is I upload the vertical ones to tumblr and keep the horizontal ones for other uses.

Ya it makes sense! It's not a big thing just something I noticed

You can take exceptional photos on an iPhone, not really much of an excuse to get careless.

My flickrs in my sig, I've added most of you guys already so throw me a follow.

1. Two of those were taken in a car

2. I wasn't thinking about how the picture looked, just that I could get the picture and move on

3. I'm literally just getting into photography and had no idea what I was doing so give me a break.

That's an amazing gallery man! That lightning shot was so nice, I have no idea how you would get that shot. Also really enjoyed your star photos with the person sitting in it, those were really cool. As for critique I would say don't post really similar photos close together, like you have the one shot of the girl and you have it two in a row just with a different head angle, no orther comments just keep shooting man your stuff Is great

No need to get upset dude but nobody likes to hear excuses.

There are tons of good photos hiding in all of the filckr-accounts posted, but every one of you seem to not be able to pick out one-two good shots from each situation, so the good shots somewhat drowns in mediocre, repeated shots.

anyways:

tear it apart folks!

My thoughts exactly for the posting the mediocre shots, anyways, as for your account, so many amazing shots that blew me away, my favourite was the sunset with that blue rope in the foreground, it just struck me. But I was confused by the addition of a few shots such as the boy fishing and the sideways building

Seriously, you are so talented man! Your art is so diverse, yet it still has a certain style. Your photos are very good as well, you certainly have artistic genes. The wide wakeboard-shot with the shallow DOF is very, very cool as it brings something new to the table! Good job man!

I think we have a winner! Seriously man your photography is amazing! Your seascape star shot with the shack on the pier is one of my favourite pictures I've seen, I can't critique any of your work it's all too good, keep it up!

Note photos 2-11 are from my final series that got me into the photo program at Montana State this semester. heres a description

Artist Statement

These images capture the rustic and natural beauty of my surroundings with an underlying interest in the effects of development on industry in rural areas. In this series, I aim to use power and train lines as a driving visual to represent their strong influence on the transition of this agricultural based society.

Really liking your style, it's really unique and viually neat, my only critique would be to shoot more variety, you black and white work really stands out

really appreciate it, ive got some variety but definitely mostly Montana themed. I'd love to get some more feedback once the rest of my images are online.

Been taking pictures for almost a year now. Mostly film, with some digital. I'm still learning, and my work definitely shows it, but rip it to pieces, I like criticism.

It's been a while since I have uploaded anything, really just haven't had the time to get out and shoot, and it takes me forever to get through a roll of film anyways.

I think your feed is pretty impressive! You could improve your mountain range by adding some foreground because some of them are really bland, all in all good stuff

Hey guys, I've been getting into photography over the last year or so. Tell me what you think, and be as critical as you need to. You don't learn by just getting your friends to say Ooh and Aah and "That's nice" so I've come to you lot for an objective opinion.

Nice shots man. As far as a critique the only thing I can say is to use a wider angle for your skate shots to bring in a little more of the environment while still making the athlete the focus point of the photo. Also, do you shoot in JPEG? If you go with RAW and use Lightroom to process you have much more latitude to edit your shots to remove some haze and noise on the darker images. Adobe is awesome and you can now get Lightroom and Photoshop for $10 a month. It looks like you have a ton of photos which is a bit overwhelming. If you have not already, take your best shots and put them on 500px for a more presentable portfolio of your best work. I use Viewbug to see what shots of mine get the best feedback then post them to 500px.

Thanks for the feedback! I shoot in Raw and edit in lightroom. I'm still learning lightroom so I'm probably not getting the best out of it in terms of noise reduction & quality. I have a 500px profile too which I put my best shots onhttps://500px.com/hugopeckham My Flickr account is more like my personal collection. Post a link to you profile so I can see some of your shots!

Nice dude, I like your shot list on 500px especially the surf shots and the long esposure longboard follow. Here is my 500px account:

I have a viewbug account that I use for the rest of my shots and you can enter contests which is cool.

I also have a photography blog I am working on, i usually just hike the terrain park and shoot different skiers and boarders:

Ah haha nice, yeah I already followed you from the 500px forum. I like your ski shots and your landscapes, your macro shot of the wasp is really cool too, but maybe too much cat?

Dude, you can never have too much cats... lol yeah I should balance it out a little. I have been doing a lot of cat shots lately because its good wildlife practice and easy to just go out in the yard and start shooting. Anyway, thanks for the critique. Have you checked out the B&H Photo Channel on youtube? There are a bunch of really good lectures on there.

Great work! Your skiing stuff is on point forsure, I think your upload method or something isnt quite right, at least on my mobile the pictures are Very low resolution, but great images once again!

Wow! Every photo from the double arches shot and later are sooo good. Tight compositions and vivid colors. Not as big of a fan of the shots before that, but still good. Just watch your sharpening and contrasts as some of the shots have a bit of halo'ing around some edges.

Sick, I'll keep an eye out for that. Thanks!

Just got my first camera a day ago. Any critiques would be appreciated.

That's some good work! Some of it lacks subject but it Makes up for it, also this is just personal opinion but I like pictures with titles, even if they are basic, it gives context in some cases and can reveal intent of the picture

Thanks for the advise, I just added some skiing portraits if you wouldn't mind critiquing them thanks.
