Flattening out rodeos into flatspins?

NS, what do do I need to do to change these into flatspins?

I tried all day to no avail... I don't like how flippy they are.

Look straight across rather than back as you kick your feet up. How I was taught on tramp. Haven't done rode 5 yet but my flat 3s are pretty flat apparently.

Honestly, that looked pretty impressive to me. I can't give you any advice though, because I would never be able to even attempt that. I think it looks awesome.

Oh just out of curiosity, how long have you been skiing park for? Also how long have you been skiing for in general. Really random, but I just wondered.

Been skiing for as long as I can remember... This is probably my 4th serious year of park skiing. Never really been any good at jumps until recently.

Thanks for teh compliments

No problem man! Sorry I can't help you with flattening them out or anything though. I just wondered because I've been skiing since I was about 3 and park skiing for probably 4 years now too, and there is no way I could ever possibly do that. I get really nervous throwing anything over a 3 haha.

Evan if you put more pressure on the front of your boot and pop more forward it will flat it out. Just follow this video.

just throw your rodeo more like a spin and bring your legs up.

and btw, it doesnt matter how many years you've been hitting the park. i was able to do every flip the first season but i wasnt able to do a 2out =/ just practice on tramps and youll be able to throw some spins and flips in no time!

or just throw n pray,in trouble, huck for double.

This is EXACTLY the video I kept thinking of today...

I tried to imitate what he described as tackling someone in front of you but for some reason it still felt like I was throwing it really far back.

You gonna be out tomorrow? I'll probably get some opening hotlaps in

Gonna try and get out there for a few hours, I actually want to learn rodeos as well so maybe i'll man up tmrw..

when you get bigger jumps it feels more natural to float em flat than a quick rodeo flip. that's what i've found at least

How did you guys learn to grab while you flip? I can backflip but I want to progress a bit and grabbing is part of that. I'll be in japan from Sunday onwards so I'll have lots of powder to work with.

i dont throw rode 5's the same way at all as a backflip, its weird i guess, but when you have the mentality of trying to kick your feet around your head, instead of flipping over, it flattens it out... hard to explain i guess

So how did you learn to grab while you do it? I tried it on a tramp once and it just stalled the rotation and I haven't had a chance to try since.

don't initiate as hard. just kinda relax and roll off the lip. Don't forget to pop, but try not winding up as much. Might help flatten them out and if not at least you'll come out of them a little slower

You just have to get more secure with the rotation and pop well. I learned flat 3s a week ago. I tried a couple times and crashed, but when I grabbed japan, it felt way better and I was able to get it. That could just be because I do it that way automatically on tramp, though.

spin more and reach reach for your outside boot dont look back at the jump look more straight up and to the landing throghout the rotation if that makes sense i think it will make it less flippy

=related
i do one in this video at lik 1 minute-1:10 i feel its more flat than flipy you can see the difference of where to look throughout dont hate on my steeze lol
