it is a rail that has a flat section followed by a down section folowed by a flat section, they are conected by "kinks" looks kinda like this:

i have one its perfect for just messing around on its a five foot flat then a 6 foot down than a 7 foot flat. oh ya and it starts out at like maby 3 1/2 feet or so but i had racking in mind when i made it because i just wanted to make somthing small to pratice on.
 
first off how much steel does you have, second 20 degrees is a perfect pitch for a kink, then how high do you want the last section, 1 to 1 1/2 feet should be good, then going back to geometry use the cos function to find out high to build it (i.e. 10(length of section)cos20(pitch)=3.42) so add 1 or 1.5 to that and you get 4.42 or 4.92 feet. if your to lazy or stupid to do this than you have no business making a rail. Or get some nerd to do it for you
 
Definately make it so the last section is still high enough off the ground, I guess start on paper then work from the bottom section up
 
Let's say he had like 35ft of rail. Couldn't he just start at the bottom and say hey I think I'll make the last section of rail 10ft then bend the rail up 20degrees, then say I i think I'll have the middle section be 15ft, then kink down 20degrees and then have 10 ft for the first section. Then just lay it out and measure out the supports and weld?
 
FDFs need to be on a hill or else they're just gay. I dunno what you're planning to do with it though
