Flat 3 or flat 5?

of course its possible.its practically an off axis back flip (idk kinda hard to explain)
i would say learn a flat 5 first unless u have backflips and lincoln loops down

Def go with 5, the rotation wants to come around 5 on that if you do it right. Some people are just ridiculous and can bust a clean flat 3.

Not to mention rodeo 3 is by definition impossible. And flat 3 is easier for sure, you just look sideways and backflip. My flat 5s always go rodeo >

dude i dont know what these people are on because i find flat 3s way, waaayyyy easier. if u can do it on a trampoline you will land it. its easier than a backflip to me. flat/rodeo 5s

sorry for the double post but i accidentally posted before i finished. anyway flat/rodeo 5s are easy once you can flat 3, but to me a flat 3 is a lot easier

I feel like with flat 3's on a tramp you'll over roate towards 5. Everythings pretty much the same but instead of trying to stop your spin you just let it go and just come around switch

Lucky.

I went for a back flip off this thing a snow cat made the other day and I felt like I went off straight throwing the back flip but then I saw my tips about to catch so I dipped really hard or something and landed on my side. Felt like a failed flat 3 even though it was a failed back flip.

Being able to do a striaght up seven doesnt correlate into doing a flat spin at all. So by that critera, no. But if you have them (flat) on lockdown on trampolines you are probably safe to try a flat 3 or 5.

On a side note, I wonder how many of the people giving suggestions in this thread can actually do either of the tricks...Probably less than half.

i tried flat/rodeo 3 first and just naturally rotated around to 5 and stomped. so it doesnt really matter

Thanks for making this thread, it answered my question. I think im gonna try a flat 3 first then set the spin a little harder and go for a 5. Sorry for the thread jack but would a little 10-15 ft jump be good for learning these?

if any one can find the video of greenleaf doing the laid out flat 3 ill give you mad karma. ive been wanting to see it again for ages but couldnt find it.

don't get flat 3s and wack flips confused.
A real flat 3 is when your head doesn't dip below your feet. Real hard to do. The only ones I've seen that come to mind right now have been in idea and some of the montage edits

Word. I do "rodeo" 3s. So I guess you say they are called wack flips? Because it definitely isn't a true flat 3, but I throw it like rodeo 5 without the last 180.

So whats the first trick in this video called?

oh no no no
rodeo 3's do not exist sorry
those are called flat 3's, even though they are more inverted then they should be they are still called flat 's enough with this rodeo 3 shit.

Rodeo 5 = Flat Spin 5There are different angles at which you can do them to make them flatter (spinnier) or more flippy. Somewhere in the middle looks the best in my opinion.
Rodeo 3's don't exist. They're just called flat 3's.
Flat 3's are half way between a back flip and a lincoln loop.
Rodeo 7,9, and 10 are all thrown differently than rodeo 5's so it's quite confusing as to why they're the same, but they resemble each other still.
When I do rodeo's, if the jump is a bit smaller i just land flat 3, but if i go bigger or on a bigger jump, it just comes around to 5. So just throw and see which one it comes out to

have you ever taken that to snow?i have flat 3's absolutely on lock on the trampoline.took it to snow this year, can only do flat 5's and 7's.
moving forward changes things a bit.

yea i can do them on snow, idk it feels pretty much the same to me, just pop and set it the same way. grabbing japan helps, but you probably already knew that

what??? tons of people do them, colby west does one in my friend is a pro,

but i woul dstill learn flat 5's cause they are more like rodeos which are easier

Flat three is one of the easiest tricks to do. just throw a back at a diagonal and grab jap. Comes around perfect. Good trick to know for pow cliff days.

not true at all. rodeo 5s are lincon 180s and flat 5s are supposed to be thrown like a backflip while dropping ure shoulder, in a proper rodeo in the middle your feet will be pointing somewhere in between the sky and being over your head while in a flat spin they will be parallel to the ground aka flat spin

thats either a flat 3 or a backflip with a japan grab... you cant really tell from the angle but a rodeo 3 isnt possible because to do a true rodeo you 90 backflip 90

Yes, and like I said, they can be thrown at different angles. So the look of them is varied, but all the same essencially

wow, this is ridiculous.
A rodeo is a mix of spinning and backflipping. you can't rodeo 3, because that's just a backflip. a rodeo 5 is a mix of a backflip and a 180.
A flat spin is when you spin off axis, and your feet/knees don't go above your head. It's not the same as a rodeo. Flat 5s aren't too hard, to do a true flat 3, it's pretty tricky.
a Wack Flip is a backflip that is kinda tweaked or off axis. It's not a flat 3, because your knees and feet are above your head. Most people call wack flips flat 3s. It's not a rodeo because you aren't spinning.
and a lincoln 1 is a lincoln 1, some people call them underflips. (I might be wrong about that but i'm pretty sure that's right.)
This is all really nit-picky. I just did this to clear it up. Call it what it is kids!
