The first flairs in the pipe were actually backflip 180s, because skiers were going straight up the walls. Once we learned how to really ride the walls, we started going at an angle up the walls, and the backflip started looking more like a lincoln. JP Auclair was kind of the pioneer in the pipe by doing his flairs set to the side, like a lincoln... technically (if a trick tip in a magazine validates the existence of a trick), then the flairs that everyone does today should really be called 'Auclair's flair.'
