FKS's on Salomon's

So i happen to have the same pair of bindings as julien regnier on the cover of the freeskier buyers guide, so why not mount them up... So how would these work on the foils "isocell" core, I know the fks's are already prone to rip out, would it be worse in a non wood core ski? I know its "foam" but its still solid stuff.

FKS's arent hugely prone to ripping out. Some of the older ones had a shtity hole pattern but the new ones are fine really.

yeah exactly the pattern in the heal is pretty close, but the binding is meant for a race plate obviously so it dosent efect racers... only freeriders, who mount them flat...

so i guess i wouldnt say prone... but i guess im just wondering if it is more likley to happen when drilled into a non wood ski....

if the ones you are talking about are the same ones as the ones julien has on the handstand picture, i have a pair of those. they have been ridden europecup alpineracing, and abused for 2 years of freesking on my old troublemakers. no sign of them getting ripped outta the sole. they are sick bindings

Just because the binding holes are close doesnt mean they are more prone to ripping out. The closer holes actualy give it a slightly more rigid mount. If they were close enough where they actualy interfered with the wood pushing out inot the other holes it would matter but they arent. The problems people used to have with were the toepiece when it was a shitty 3 screw pattern.

If you rip the heel out of the ski with the fks's chances are it would have come out with any other binding.
