alright so I am buying the FKS 180s but my question is about the brakes. I have a pair of park skis and pow skis this year and only really want to buy one pair of bindings. If the brakes are changeable? id buy a wide set. If they are not changeable appreciate input and do you suggest bending them? if that option would i buy the wide ones and rock them on my park skis too or should i buy the normal ones and bend em to fit my pow skis too ?

Thanks for the help!! +K for input

what ur saying makes no sense at all. if u were planning on using one pair of bindings on both skis u would have to purchase threaded inserts otherwise the whole brake issue wouldnt even exist because u cant move fks to other skis anyways. and secondly the brakes are interchangeable but the binding has to be off the ski in order to do it.

plus it would be such a hassle to change your brakes everytime you wanted to switch skis. getting one pair of bindings for 2 pairs of skis is a really bad idea

got a job rick. moving to whistler so i can just go throwing out money like its my job, just looking for the best option. thanks for the help tho appreciate it

i have been riding "quiver killers" since last january. one pair of fks and one pair of dukes. 4 pairs of skis. Although i have developed a nack for switching out the breaks. I'm happy so far but i also have access to cheap/free replacement parts.

if you have to ask questions about bindings, you DO NOT FUCKING NEED AN 18 DIN BINDING

^its that simple

yep, your right because all people who don't truly know about how fks work and or that bindings can be switched between skis don't need a binding that has a din of 18. He could need the binding because of weight or other factors you don't know what his ability is just by his post. Chances are he has seen that everybody loves this binding, which is good, but might want to do a little more research. Just because he asked an opinion question doesn't mean he isn't a candidate for an 18+ binding.
By the way I would not recommend, and nor do a lot of people, the continual switching of ski bindings. However, quiver killers do enable you to do this which is probably the only logical way to do it. Also an fks binding does not have a good interface for switching out different sized bindings. You have to take the whole assembly apart and ultimately everytime you do so you are making the binding more weak. Really any other binding would be a better choice if you were to be switching bindings through quiver killers

he really doesnt need a din 18 binding. he is a good skier and all, but fks 140's would do the job perfectly fine

i didnt fucking do anything.

the kid is a good skier, but he isnt in x games. you dont need a din 18 binding unless you are charging hard or you are pro

one binding for 2 sets of skis is a terrible idea unless you use quiver killers, but even then it is difficult and not awesome for your fks to change the brakes every day

that kid skis pretty fucking hard. i have fks 180s. do i need an 18 din binding? no, but the 180 has an all metal toepiece as opposed to the 140s. and i break bindings. this is a kid that can obviously handle that binding. just because you arent pro doesnt mean that you dont need them. you are the last person that needs to be telling people what bindings to get, or not get.

I thought about doing this and decided fks pretty much suck to swap over. If you have 2 sets of brakes the metal plate will probably get bent out of shape from being removed continually. Plus it takes way longer than other bindings.

If you are going to use inserts, something with a proper removal brake such as sollys, mojo/peaks ect are better options.

He's right about the DIN...ofcourse the Spencer kid doesn't need 18 DIN...He'll kill himself and rip his knees in half...He's just a little fella.

What he does need is the sturdyness of the 18 DIN FKS...

That being said: Your questions been answered, but your skiing was awesome buddy, keep it up!

I dare say everyone cares a little bit.

Who wouldn't? I mean, it's not as important as real life, but still; if you're not appreciated you care, only if it's a little bit. I would have the same. Being liked, no matter by whom (except by Bin-Laden, Berlusconi and Matt Damon) is always nice.

didnt he send you a PM asking if you hated him or not? Sounds like he cares alot about what people on the internet say about him.

It's an insert you put in your skis where you put your bindings in so you can unscrew it and stick it into another binding that has the screws in it also. It's a nice idea but the skis would have to be relatively the same width...

So like heli coils or T nuts?

Similar to what line had in their skis that were compatible with the reactor bindings, correct?
