Fks help?

So I'm going to get some bindings to put on some park skis that I hope to get this summer but I just want to know if FKS are worth the extra money? I am 6 foot and 150lb I'm going to get something like AR6-7 or cryptos

Also if not does anyone have any other suggestions for me?

I would say yes. Obviously if you could find a deal, or even manage to find some old FKS's, that would work. But as far as bindings go, definitely not an area where i would cut corners just because of cost. I like my knees haha.
 
The binding is made of more metal than any other, there's a reason they haven't changed it much in 25 years. I honestly don't understand why people invest $200+ on plastic bindings.
 
Precisely. The bindings are much more durable when it comes to impacts because of the fact that all of the important parts are made of metal. The larger range of release points in the heel-piece is also an added plus. In addition, if you look at the binding mounted to a ski you would see how low the boot is to the ski. This translates to better control on rails (in my opinion).
 
the only downside is that there is no track on the heel.

you must be ready to remount if you get new boots, or don't get new boots.

otherwise, i've only heard good things about them
 
Also one of their biggest upsides. The lack of a massive metal track is what makes them so light for a all metal binding. Not to mention it minimizes the dead spot compared to most other bindings.

 
nah, solly 916/920s have more metal in them than fks, especially in the heel. and ive broken a few pairs of fks bindings, never 916s. not to say fks arent a good binding, i used them for years. but theyre not your only choice. and the price tag on them since theyve been reintroduced is outrageous. do some shopping/research before pulling any triggers.
