Was talking with the Rossi rep yesterday at the shop. He mentioned that the FKS is coming back in regular and wide brake versions, in 12 and 18 din models. The new brake is modular (aka will come out easy and be availible in multiple widths) and "will work with alpine trekkers" (!!!)

Just giving a heads up. He didnt know a ship date. Said it could be as late as next season.

And just when everyone was starting to hoard and sell for hella cheddar. I guess they released the rest of the pairs from the factories which is what all of this is, i dunno if they are actually "making" any.

the press release i saw had a picture of navy blue ones with the heel piece looking slightly less chunky than before

if you take the time to bend them without putting copious amounts of stress on them they are fine. that isnt what i am talking about anyways, i meant this style brake...

such a piece of shit, they break the same weekend you put them on, and without them your boot wont sit properly in the binding.

REally about the rossi breaks breaking? To me the rossi brakes are more durable than any other. Salomon breaks suck, love the bindings, but the breaks are not good. I have not used my griffens yet but they have 2 screws holding them on and a track so those should be good. And if Riddle says the FKS are coming back you know it must be true.

yes, that would seem quite obvious.... the op was saying something

alone the lines of a modular brake system that is easily

interchangeable even though the older models you can already take out

the brakes... i just dont want this new system to be like the picture i posted above(not the exact same brakes), where if it breaks then you are SOL because your boot doesnt sit properly... i

Im sure its similar to the existing system, i have the feeling the only thing holding the brake on is the 4 mounting screws. Seems like the only way it could happen. Like the binding fits over the brake, it would look very similar to the current fks.

i'll tell you for sure the new ones are gonna go for more cheddar than xtra xtreme cheddar cheetos, us stockpilers will be able to sell no problem :)

maybe i can put this to rest (finally?), just was in boulder ski deals and snapped this pic for everyone...

hope that worked

no, these are the old rossi fks 155 the black/orange.

they are th last yeaar they made them i have a pair from 2006/2007.

My Dynastar rep told me today that brakes and base plates will be available separately to fit old FKS. Which suggests that the new bindings are the exact same, so yes you can replace the brakes but it'll still require full disassembly of the heelpiece.

I have heard they should be hitting shops maybe by late fall this year. and yeah they are gunna cost an arm and a leg i kinda wish they had something between the 12 and 18
