FKS and Pivot question

I searchbarred, couldn't find anything to help my needs.

What is the difference between the toe pieces of the Look Pivot 14 and the Rossignol FKS 140. I always was under the impression that these were the same exact bindings, but the toe pieces look quite different.

I think rossi's website is messed up, it shows a pic of fks 180's for the 140's as well. They are the exact same, you are looking at look pivot 140's and rossi fks 180's. As for differences the 180 toe piece is solid metal and does not have upward release (i think).

spot on, that top pic is an 18 din with the race toe. the bottom one is the pivot 14/fks 140. they are the same so get which color you like better or which you can find cheaper.

This is true, the FKS 180 features the Dual Action Race toe, full metal construction, whilst the FKS140/Pivot 140 features the Dual Action toe, which I beleive is plastic in construction. As far as I am aware depite the differing construction, both toe pieces feature 180degree multi directional release. However the Dual Action toe on the FKS140 features 45mm lateral travel, compared to the 40mm of the FKS180. Also the Dual Action (FKS140) toes features 4 points of contact, where as the Dual Action Race of the FKS180 features 7 points of contact.

nb/ OP the FKS140 features the toe (Dual Action) as the Axial2 series.

Hope this helps, Joey
