Fks and mounting

just ordered a new pair of ON3P fr for this season, cant afford bindings yet and will probably need new boots. Im going to get some pivot/fks but dont know if i need the 140s or if 120 will do. Im 6ft and about 68kg. But also should i wait to get my new boots before mounting because i dont want to be re mounting the bindings. can anyone clear up any of this for me and can you adjust fks bindings at all?

There's not a lot of movement in FKS. Maybe 1cm tops. If you're likely to significantly change BSL then don't mount until you have your new boots.

What DIN do you ski? The construction of the 12 and 14 is identical, only difference is the spring, if you're not going to be skiing at 12 or higher save your money and get the 12's.

If you aren't skiing at 11 or so, go for 12s and save your money. Check to see if you need new boots first, and if you do, get those and then mount.

this, also make sure you don't change boot size or grow out of them as they don't move much as someone said above, I've heard that they move half a size or so both ways

If you get boots with the same bsl as your old ones, its okay to mount then. If you move up a size or half size, wait to mount them when you have that new boot. I'm in the same position as you except I have my binders ready. Im super impatient to get them mounted but want to wait to see if I get a new boot or not

OP, definitely wait for new boots unless you are absolutely sure that you aren't getting new ones or if they have the same BSL as your old ones, and as others have said, there is not much adjustment at all. As for the din setting, if you don't ski above an 11 and you aren't going to max out your din anytime soon, definitely buy the 12's, as they are less expensive and just as durable as the 140's. The only reason I would go with 14's is if you ski above an 11 din and might go past that eventually, but both bindings are rock solid. You won't have to worry about smashing them to bits because the heelpiece is all metal and the toepiece is almost all metal also. I recently bought a pair of FKS 120s over the Pivot 12's only because the heelpiece has a different layering over it instead of paint, which gets really scraped up after a while. Plus they were only like $5 more anyway with no tax and free shipping. Hope this helped
