Fixing dent in edge on tip

Blew this edge out at targhee last weekend, directly on my tip. It’s in tact just pushed right back into the ski, bulging out on the bottom and separating from the top.

I want to somehow push the bulge back in and epoxy the top back on with some vice grips. If I can’t get the edge back out, would it be chill to just squeeze the top down with some epoxy and maybe glue in the vice. Any tips appreciated!

Multiple ways to fix it. If it were me I would cut that little chunk of edge out and clean that hole out. Then fill the hole with gflex and clamp the shit out of it for 24 hours. Come back and sand it to match the ski.

Some people wouldn’t cut that chunk of edge out.

I would say try and do it without cutting the edge first and see how it goes. Looks like the edge is fully intact and that way you won’t risk it ripping out after u cut it.

I second this method. You might as well cut the edge out if you want the base to sit flush with the ski again because you’re definitely not going to be able to re-bend the edge. And you’re probably going to need to heat up the base to re shape it. I would also add some type of shim on something in there afterwards or else the base is just gonna cave in the other way, and I would rivet it as well.

thats just me tho ??‍♂️

All depends what tools you have accesible. I would just punch out/cut out the bese around dent, then use heat, flat screwdriver and CAREFULY hammer to straighten out edge to previous shape, clean, cut out base piece so it fit flush with cut out, and epoxy with clamps together. Did it on my friends snowboard and few pairs of skis and it works well as long as you are carful while hammering edge straight because theres a chance for edge to break. Good luck.
