Fixies/Track bikes

anyone on NS ride fixed gear bikes?

i just finished mine ('84 shwinn world) about three weeks ago and i friggin' love it!

I've never done more then just ride up and down the block on one but it was crazy... I can't imagine actually taking one out on trails.

I actually know a couple people who have built up fixed gear mountain bikes... its out of hand. What a lot of them will do though is just put a rear wheel on with a special hub so that one side is fixed gear and the other is just a regular single speed.

yeah, i have a flip-flop hub on mine as well. i mean, ive seen some built up fixie mountain bikes, but its seems sorta weird and extra dangerous to me.

jBought a $20 'gigante' road bike from salvation army the other day and ripped off everything unecessary. For now it's only a reg. singlespeed (same as my mountain bike, love it) and may go fixie if i get a flip-flop hub. wouldn't want it to be permanent by welding my hub or anything.

wrong, only hobby emo kids have at my school is smoking. I'm only one of 2 people with a fixie that I know.

i just swaped out my handle bars today and ripped all over town all day, it was sick. im learning some tricks, its tight, im addicted now.

its basicly like skateboarding but faster, nothing "EMO" about it.

its too bad but its true, there's so many hipster douchebags with bandanas around their necks, girl jeans, and some really cool swept back douchebag haircut. The bikes themselves are cool and racing on a track is dope, but there's way too many straight up fuckheads at least in seattle
