Fix for oversized boots?

Does anybody have any quick fixes to tighten up boots. I bought a pair years ago when I rarely went to the mountain and sized up because they were more comfortable. Now, they are really affecting my progression (heels pop up when trying to grip rails or butter.) I won't be able to afford a sweet new pair of those full tilts everyone is talking about till next season, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Buy new boots, sorry man nothing you can really do, you will never regret having good boots tho, its very worth the investment.

New boots is the only real option here if progression is your aim.

The closer the boot fits your foot, the less you have to move/quicker response from skis. The more performance you want the less comfort you're gonna have.

Please go see a reputable boot fitter though, otherwise it's very very easy to end up where you are again in a few months time

I’d recommend adding some insoles to the boots to fill them a bit more, I added two to my last pair.

This works for a "quick fix" and will definitely help get a snugger fit, but like said above the only real way to fix your issue is a boot fitted for your foot

might as well tell him to wear 5 pairs of socks...

put a few insoles in and if u need also get some of those spacers that go against your shin. i think they are called the eliminator or something

do not do this OP

I actually did this the other day to see if it would work. It doesn't fix my problems completely, but it was better than the heel lift that I was feeling before. Does it damage the liners? I know I sound dumb but I am very curious

yep, I bought the boots when I was young and dumb and now am beginning to regret my decision. To be fair, they are 4 seasons old and packed out. I need new boots but I am trying to hold out for another season because cash is tight rn

yeah stuff some Kleenex down there, just whatever you do don’t go to a boot fitter it’s a scam all boots are the same

pour quick cement into your liner then put your feet in. After it's cured just slide your feet out. Worked for me

Different brands are different shapes so you need to see which brand and model is the shape of your foot.

If you're set on keeping these boots you can get an HV intuition liner - tryhttps://fluidmotionsports.com/

...but if they're a size or more too big they will never fit right.

That's what happens when you buy boots online

As everyone already said the correct fix is getting properly sized boots. That being said plenty of people have been in your situation and we don't always have the cash to drop on new boots right away. In that case you can use foam/shims/new liners as a stop gap until you can get new boots. Tognar has all the boot fitting stuff you'd find at a shophttps://www.tognar.com/ski-boot-fitting/

i had to get by riding someone else’s boots for a couple weeks and 3 pairs of burton socks helped me make em work lol

imo this is one of those NS tropes. "no you can't use a boot that's a little too big, and if you do the sky will fall. get brand new boots using a boot fitter, peasant!"

yes, well-fitting boots from a good boot fitter are the obvious best choice. but money def doesn't always allow that

OP, you can get foot beds and/or things made specifically for making your boots fit smaller. i've seen a little insole thing that you slide under your existing footboard or whatever that thing is and it is supposed to make your boots a half size smaller

and/or stuff like this maybehttps://www.skibartlett.com/ski-boo...mory-fit-volume-reducing-pad-kit-black-p18319 or the things @Cyanicenine posted

hell, i borrowed a buddy's boots once and had an ankle wrap on one foot and beer coozies shoved in the other one to reduce extra volume. it worked fine despite what the hens on NS will tell you

if you can't buy new boots (or find some cheap used ones that fit you) i'd just fuck around in the living room with some of these options. ideally you get the little kits and products that are made specifically for this purpose

Insoles/footbeds shorten your foot and make it skinnier so that is definitely not the move

new boots is the only way.

I've helped friends over, and into correct size boots, and its like watching them getting cheatcodes in reallife, a loose boot you slide around in is SHIT
