Fishing bragging rights

I caught a 3 pound sunny /claim

I mostly fish for northerns, walleye(sp) and bass.

Hopefully I'll be fishin trout this year.

i caught a 2 and a half foot cod deep sea fishing over the weekend. no pics though so it doesnt really count. fish and chips were delicious though

i figure i'll give my bestfriend up in new york some credit with this smallie. comes close to mine. he caught it today somewhere around suny oneonta i think with an rapala x rap. don't mind his shaved head, he just joined the coast guard and was drunk. atleast thats what he told me happen to his hair.

i dont really have any pics, ive cought some nice small and larges all over the place, my grandmas pond is like unfair though because its all freakishly old/large large and smallmouths that you can catch with a fucking hook and a gummy worm (yes, i have caught fish with sour and gummy worms there) they are just retarded i dont know why.

and ive caught a lot of stripers and blues ocean fishing, i think my best claim would be that i caught 2 blues and a small striper on an umbrella rig at once, i thought i aws reeling in fucking jaws...blues fight hard as hell.

damn i didnt know there were so many people who fished on here. it all seems a little fishy to me

fishing ponds are easy but still fun here on base. we have like 6 or 7 ponds on the golf courses we hit up. they're small so its not hard to find fish

I was on phelps for the 4th of July last year. Definitely a nice island, idk if you could really label any one the "Best" though. I like it cause its about 2 mins from Calfs Pen and Log Bay. What site were you on? we had the one on the northeast side of the island.

i would say it was on the northwest side of the island, with the huge ass rock. that rock was so sick. i found some pictures or when we went on my computer. i had better pics but complications with the ex girlfriend so yeah, here some pictures. should of just made a photo album but fuck it. last year, bout a year to date, right before i went to boot

nice!!! i fish trout too. cought 54 in about 3.5 hours worth of fishing in a 3 day period. took em all and smoked them. also every fall we hit up canada for the salmon rod

i was gonna say the exact same thing about the blues. I caught a 24 inch blue last summer and thought it was like a great white shark haha and then caught a 48 inch striped bass and swore that i hooked seaweed.

I'm a strong advocate of catch and release......particularly because I live in the west where every river is overfished.

Don't come out here and kill trout....

if you have your license and only take the maximum number allowed, the rivers will be fine. but only keep if your gonna eat it or use it.

its like hunting... i hate trophy hunters.... seriously, they should be released in a zoo where the lions or tigers are without a gun or weapon. HATE trophy hunters.

That is 100% false in many Western states, if even a quarter of the people who fly fish in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, California, etc kept the allowed number there would be a decimated trout population.

Granted there are areas in the US and Canada where that may be true, but don't pull that shit in Colorado.

haha...from "The Old Man and the Sea"I read this book this year and had to do a 25 min. presentation.Definitely not the greatest book to talk about for 25 min...But I managed.

I work in Alaska as a captain at a Charter Fishing lodge. This was our biggest halibut of the year (accompanied by two fair sized ones).

memorial day I caught that beast

my buddy just pulled that one from a very small lake near by, pretty impressive for what usually comes out of it.no idea what it is or how much it weighed

get a 6ft ugly stick medium action if your gonna be catching anything bigger than a sunfish or little trout. and after a while, all you need is a better real. the shakespeare will do for a while. like now i got that exact set up but after deployment, i'll get a better real. get anywhere from 8-12lb test line and no worries, you good to fish all day

dude id get a combination rod/reel setup. you can actually get something pretty good for like $50
Something like this would be perfect. its a quantum rod and reel. quantum is one of the best manufacturers of fishing stuffhttp://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_104128_100003000_100000000_100003000_100-3-0

or if you go to sports authority or dicks you can get one like this ugly stick combo (great starter rod)http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1422792&cp=3077577.3085048.2291517.2291573&pg=2&searchSort=TRUE&s=A-StorePrice-TSA&parentPage=family

i still love the light one for bass. its a blast. and a nice bass makes the rod basically bend in half. the fight is unreal

yeah they suck, at this lake my family used to live on they had a carp fishing derby just because they were soooo overpopulated. we would be trying to swim by the docks (like little kids) and they would show up. they fishing derby was like open season though, you could use spear guns and shit and it was all about quantity not quality. those things are stupid the best thing to use to catch them is corn. i bet they are fun to catch though.

My boyfriend is a pro musky fisher and catches fish half the size of me daily. I have yet to go with him... I'm not a prissy girl, but fish just creep me out.

I was out on a local lake Sunday here in southeast PA. Caught two pickeral on a little black spinner before one finally took it right off the line. One was about a foot and a half and the other was a little 8 incher or so.

The real fun was getting chased, like literally pursued in a menacing manner, by an alligator snapper turtle. Son of a bitch was around 2 feet across the shell with a head bigger than my fist. I actually had to use my paddle to push this bastard away from my boat!!!!!! Several times!!!!! All in all though he never snapped or hissed so I think he just wanted to check me out.

My family just came back from a crappie trip in Minnesota, had to be some of the worst days of my life, MN weather sucks dick. But me and my buddy go fishing all the time in Iowa. We usually go out crappie and bass fishing during the day and set trot lines and limblines for cats. Towards the evening we go bowfishing for carp. Fishing is fucking awesome.
