I think its neato. but is there any practicality? does it work? fischer x-fire boot? anyone have any experience with these boots and their flex pattern?







ORIGINAL V-POSITION

In their natural, relaxed position, your feet form a V shape.

In

this position the knees remain parallel when bent. Fischer took these

anatomic facts into account during the development of the Soma-Tec ski

boot and perfected the result. All ski boot models now retain the

natural V-position while the skis are parallel. Neither the feet nor

the knees are rotated inwards. Less force is needed and edge switching

is more dynamic. As confirmed by our World Cup skiers.





 
no, actually,it aligns your stance. stand up and put your feet straight foreward. are your knees facing inwards? now put our feet out a little bit, your knees are now pointed a little bit foreward, that is the stance that fischer uses.
 
a mod will move this thread eventually and yes i have ridden these boots. I got the fischer X-120 the first year that soma-tech was introduced and i love the shit out of these things. It takes a few runs to get used to, as does any new pair of boots, but skiing feels much more natural now. Especially in pow. The soma accounts for 8 degrees of duck footed-ness i believe and many skiers have been duck footing their bindings, especially on pow skis. Do a search for a pair of ANTs duckfooted here on NS and theres a whole thread about how much this dude loves it.
