Hey guys, I just wanted to say this upcoming season we need to see more support for FIS half pipe events. If we want too see it become an olympic sport we are all the ones to do it. If everybody with the oppurtunity too trained hard and gave more effort at low end FIS competitions it would show CFSA that there is an interest from the atheletes, and that we do want to go to the olympics. This will create more noram and world cup events in the sport at a far larger scale increasing its popularity and image! Its not too late for 2010, remember half pipe snowboarding became an event less than a year before the olympics!

man if you want more norams you shouldn't be telling more people to go to the low end events. There's tons of people at those but like 10 at each noram
 
its a good thing they voted on putting it in.

at least skiercross made it in. too bad there isnt an alberta team for that
 
I can't believe skiercross is acctually a sport. How did it get in the Xgames? Who knows but it sure as hell isn't "Xtreme" how is it getting into the olympics? That's an even bigger question. It's more one of those things you and your friends might do down the ski out, only that's more extreme cause there's hundreds of gapers in your way
 
skiercross is legit.

the reason it's in the olympics is because it has a very well attended world cup circuit. the world cup pipe circuit doesn't have a huge following because the world's best competitors don't participate in the world cup events because the prize money isn't as big as it is in say the US Open, WSI, Ski Tour, etc...

If skier's want pipe skiing in the olympics the top dogs are going to have to go out and compete in the FIS comps. this may show the IOC that there is potential there to try a skier's pipe event in the olympics. when the top guy in a FIS event is Josh Bibby along with a bunch of unknowns, no one really cares.

 
I'm with you, I think it's because the olympic people don't want sports that are judged, its much easier for them if the only factor is time. I think its gay too.
 
acctually ya that is true. That's partly why they have pipe not slopestyle. It's a lot easier to judge and less subjective. Amplitude and difficulty is a lot clearer in the pipe so they'll have less people arguing about who should have won
