FIS "Banning" No-Poles?

if its easier to do tricks with no poles than why doesn’t everyone already go no poles? why not ban poles and further progress the sport??

fr? that's stupid. when i think of moguls i think of a backflip with an iron cross.

Standard run for dudes is back/full and a cork 7 or 10.. they do a lot of back/ cross on bottom air in duals but that's only cuz of speed points. No top 20 dudes are doing back cross in a singles run.

Completely justified, should always have been the case. It gives a massive advantage to anyone without poles for making a grab. And skiers have poles.... so....

Sadly in any sport there must be rules, and in judged sports its probably even more important to have a framework to work within. Hell if you don't like rules let people with blades on and no poles compete and see how many spins they can fit in, if that's all that matters :-)

good. but it feels wrong to ban nopoleans. and it makes me question poles, even though I always use them myself.

Could me missremembering, but weren't you docked major points in like the kangaroo flip era and before for not using poles at x games?

The general consensus of the responses in this thread have given me renewed confidence in the NS community. Thank you.

this is stupid. it's a style preference. plus what happens to people skiing with a cast on their wrist? pretty soon they'll be making rules about how big your poles should be, and then before you know it they'll be making rules about what tricks to do. It may sound silly to the kids but FIS did it before with moguls.
