We all know that with freeskiing accepted in the Sochi Olympics, almost every athlete will train their brains out to get a spot in the National Ski Team. These spots are limited, so I guess athlete's egos will start growing and begin to collide as the olympics arrive.

This time, we got the always controversial Tanner Hall who uploaded the following pic on instagram making fun of Walter Wood and his religious views or whatsoever by posting the following:

I don't know if it certainly was a joke or just tanner being himself pushing the limits, but it created lot of discontent amongst the other us ski team athletes and they began some sort of instafight.

The point is, that I think that this will star happening a lot because all athletes have their own point of view regarding Olympics. So anyway, just wanted to throw this out there and get to know what you think.
 
Funny how now that T Hall is on his way out of the game people are starting to call him on being a douche.
 
Tanner isn't out of the game. People "way out of the game" don't win major pipe contests or star in popular ski movies.

bonus points to T for saying "u maaaadd".

 
I met Tanner back in 2006. He was a disrespectful Prick. 6 years later, nothing has changed. Some people grow up and some don't. Tanner will never grow up. Child Star Syndrome.

However I respect his skiing, but not him as a person.
 
it is going to get bad. no one wants to say "im training for comps" even thought MOST of them are. Tanner wants to be known as someone with style, not a competition skier if this makes sense
 
This is the only attitude and life he knows. He would die in a normal society or job. You can't hate on him for simply being who he is.
 
I have to agree with Torin here, his views are very sound and make sense, you shouldn't be at each others necks, it is a team.
 
isn't tanner gona be on the jamaica team anyways? or am i imagining this.idk he just has a loud mouth and says things that other people think but don't say, so does that really make his opinion worse then others, or just known?
 
Then why can he hate on other people for being who they are? Or skiing how they ski? Because he's Tanner Hall? I don't think so.

To all the skiers that claim that their dream is to win or compete in the Olympics and not the X Games. Fuck all of you, you guys are fake, go ride moguls instead.

 
You misunderstood my post. I said 'he is on his way out of the game', not 'he is way out of the game'. And whilst he did get the win in New Zealand recently, his run was a far cry from what would be required to win the X-Games or Dew Tour.

The one thing that I love is mainstream social media's slow degradation into Internet drama. It exists everywhere and you can't get away from it.
 
i hope this keeps rockin. I love reading this shit. hahahahahaha. Some one should contact MTV and get a reality show going, it would bring money/exposure to the sport. Isn't that what everyone wants anyways?!?!?!?!? fuck the olympics. mtv is the future.

 
hahaha this is great. tanner is fucking awesome for saying exactly what's on his mind, you have to respect him for that no matter what he's saying. and professionalism? we're fucking skiers man, not politicians or stock brokers.
 
I must say, it is refreshing at times to hear raw opinions. So much of what we hear in ski media is sanitized.

I'm not saying I agree with outbursts - but at least we know they're real.

Went out to eat with a friend, and this thread got awesome!

I know it's been mentioned, but it really is refreshing to hear opinons that aren't watered down to put on a PC front.
