Hi, Im 20, Advanced Skier, 6'1, 85kg, Not done loads in a park, but wanna get into it, but wanna be able to ski the whole mountain still! id say probably 50% park, 50% all mountain.

What skis would be best suited?

Ive been looking at the Line Chronic Blend skis and Dynastar Trouble makers, im on a budget so dont want to go too expensive. any suggestions? (Not sure what size to get either, was thinking around 175??)

cheers!

Mikey

Not sure about the Chronics, but I have TMs, and if your gonna go 50% mtn, they're great but at high speeds mine start to juggle a bit. Although, this is in the EC, I skied out in keystone a month ago and they were amazing even on high speeds. Skied on man-made here, I could barely get some good carving turns going, 2 days after it finally snowed I was carving like in Keystone. So.. where are you from.

sizewise, AT LEAST 180. twins ride super short compared to traditional Allmtn ski, so you need to size alot bigger. dont worry bout the size being sluggish, it isnt. thats the common misconception with begginers, is that shorter skis are easier to spin. its not. whats more importatnt is the mount. since you wanna go 50 50, i would say in the range of 2-5 cm backwards from the actual center of the ski, (not the midpoint of the sidecut, like, the actual measured center). most skis will be marked fairly well, but most twins are designed to be skied almost centered. like if you were to mount k2s at the recommended midsole mark, they ski like shit.

i'm 6'0", 185 (85 kg) and also mostly an all mountain rider with a little park. I got 179 chronic blends and love em. Highly recommended.

If you mount tradition for all mountain go short 170-175. If you center mount for park go long, 175-180

I have found online Salomon Foils at 174cm for £279 with bindings ($550 ish) and also Rossignol Scratch Sprayer BC for £249 with bindings ($500 ish)

any opinions/ ideas?

cheers guys
