First trick that made you think “damn, i’m getting somewhere”

first getting 270s out of rails solid made me feel way more confident and like i could try more things but i still got a lot to learn

Confirming this as I landed my first backflip yesterday and I feel the need to broadcast it again since I have no footy to watch repeatedly this week.

first backy has gotta be the best feeling in skiing

When I was 15 I was frustrated with skiing and about to switch to snowboarding cause I sucked at rails and could only do 3s and 5s but then I learned rodeos. 5 years later and I’m still skiing.

Mashing steep powder lines through tight trees into bigger drops. Never been so stoked as I was this season when I hit some lines that I had previously assumed I would never even try.

5's were probably the biggest step for me. That jump to consistent decent looking 5s. Idk. I never really got that good though. Although 3ing both ways and doing various shitty flips at a tiny parkless mtn made me think I was pretty dec.

First front 2 felt good but getting a back 3swap on a flat tube within a few tries felt pretty damn good as well

Not a trick, but I remember when general air awareness on sidehits, jumps and drops ''clicked." Something about not penciling out like a boner and rolling the windows down on a modest drop made me feel like such a champion.

I spent like a week with my freeride team @ the UOP when I was like 14 or 15 busting my ass on Rodeos and Flat 3's into the pool and couldn't get it until like finally getting one around with my coach there and my mom and sister there to watch and it felt super awesome cuz everyone was super stoked. Kinda just taught me that putting your mind to it and just keeping on with stuff especially in skiing is important.

Kinda just been self-coaching myself and working on my own progression in the years since. These past two seasons have felt phenomenal in terms of just actual skiing and maneuverability, handling at high speeds, holding those edges super well, staying in the drivers seat, not being scared to roll-over stuff that you know whats below on the fall-line, and just pointing it and skiing. Its nothing mindblowing by any means but enough to keep you stoked, confident, and always ready to go for the next season. Really wanna pucker myself next season and ski something spicy.

When I actually became comfortable with swapping and could do it on most features. That led to a lot of things for me

Switch lip, tried them early season and zeeched every time mainly because I was sliding the rail unnatural and some time mid season I finally figured them out and the same day i got sw lip front 2s and landed a few sw lip front 4s

Landing a 360 on a 60'step down at 15 had to be the game changer for me. Then, it happened again with the cork 720 at 25; a trick I gave up trying years ago because I kept hurting myself.

Cleaning a lip 2 in a day was a pretty big stepping stone.

gotta be when i sent my first cork 3 layed out on the big jump at momentum, was probably about 15 or something. Went on to learn a cork 5 the following year. Haven't really improved at an exponential rate or anything on jumps since then, but rail game has been getting much better at a pretty good rate, learned front 8 and back 6 and 4's on, 3 swaps and such within like 4 years of not being super solid on rails
