first time twins

hi. i am 14 and i am about 6'0'. i weigh about 55kg. i want to buy some twintips for park and basicly all round. it will be my first twintips. i am on quite a tight budget, so the cheaper the better. i have been recomended the 720 and the fugative and a few others. what do you think? cheers.

the fujatives are a good deal. but last years stuff is always cheap. and for bindings, get an older look p12. new for 100-140. if you get a pair of 2004 lines or something (the 1260 is a great skli to learn on. its very forgiving, light, and makes riding switch very easy to learn) for 250-300 + 130 p12s, thats less than 500 bucks for a great setup. if you need new boots, those can be had (last years) for around 200.

in science class i sat down to fast and you know how you can sit on your balls. well i did and i sat down really fast and crushed them and right when i sat down i started puking and fell out of my chair. they teacher laughed. i felt like i could pass out i wanted to die.-*NWFT*nUkkA

'i want to buy some twintips for park and basicly all round' arn't the 1260 bad for groomers and all mountian stuff

no. they arnt bad. they definatly arnt MSPs or anything. but they work ok on the groomers. its a park ski though. and it is probably the best ski to learn tricks on, cause its forgiving, light, soft flexing, and they have a lot of pop. plus, they are cheap. they are the best ski i can think of for learning park ridding. shure, if your gonna be goin huge, or dion a lot of crazy rails, the chrons would be better. but they arent all mountain skis either. a 182 line 1260 would be PERFECT.

i learned to ski park on 1080's. they absolutely rip all-mountain too. i really recommend them. dont listen to all this 'they suck cuz they have a foam core' bullshit because its not true at all. rad all around ski. maybe try to find last years model in 181cm. should be right for you. ^

^its not true about the foam core, it has some foam agent in the shit, but its not all stirofoam, thats the image i got

holy shit!!!111!1! he has more hten one namne??>?? omggg!! what a sux0rz@!! LOL

i remember my first time with twins, those were a couple of fine pieces of ace (to quote chris farley).......oh sorry, wrong kind of twins.

salomons are alright, (a little better on groomers) but the lines are still a better park ski. they will hold up for a while, and then if you buy new skis, they will still be intact for a rail ski. the candides wold be a good buy too. dont get salomon. besides for all the other construction reasons, everyone has them. the lines are better. they have way more pop.

i started off on twip tips w/ the 1260. they were awesome i took them down through the park learning 3's and what not but also hit up jay peak and mad river and they held their own there too

Those candides would be a great ski for you. I have been skiing on them for a few years, and they have been excellent. Since you are pretty light, they would also make a good powder ski.

The Fujatives are probably the best bang for your buck. Im an avid line follower, and the Chronics will probably suit you well too, but the fujatives just look like they'd handle well all around

311 is the Fuckin Shit Mutha Fucka

you should find some Pow air grinds, No just kidding go with the chronics in a 67 with your size you should be set, you don't want the fujitives they are just to little ski for someone your size

Whatever you do, don't get the 720s dude. My opinion with limited actual fact to back it up says their bunk. These guys are probably on track trying to hook you up with a 1080 or a Fujative. Everyone on my 'block' seems to ride 1080s with no legitimate beefs. At least that's the word around the lift line.

hes 6 ft and you guys are suggesting 170s?!?! kid, get at least head height. Why? vause a twin tip ski has alot less effective edge, and a head high ski will feel smaller, specially when centermounted. at least get something upwards of 180. like i said, the 182 1260 would be perfect.

haha , good reaosning keegan, the mojos were rated the best pow freestyle ski in skipress , it won by a lot. it shoudl be an extremely solid ski. i dont knwo the way it skis or anything. But you shoudl definitly look up the mojo and look into that.

Damn guys i know how it is to have people tellin you like 60 different skis. it sucks. I learned on lines but for you, i would get the K2 Fujatives. They are a cheap ski and if you get a 179, they will be perfect for you. They are pretty durable to so like if you fuck em up which you will because when you are learning to slide rails, you dont know how to do it correct so your edges will get more broken. overall this blah blah i say...GET FUJATIVES!!!

We're all chasing the dream

no, longer skis make landing tricks way easier. my 1260s (164) are so much harder to land with than my 175 TMs were. besides, 1260s arnt at all heavy. besides, if he wanted to still be able to use them all mountain, longer would be helpful. also, longer skis have less sidecut than smaller ones, and are therefor more stable, again, a trait that lends itself well to learning. the +'s from the length far outweigh the very, very small increased gain in weight.

with a pair of 175 tms (pretty heavy ski)and a 164 1260 (very light ski), i could still easily spin 360s off the snow. and in the air, the 175s were way more stable. i am not suggesting going heavier, but the longer the ski will definatly work better. the go shorter with twin tips is a fad that i bought into with my first pair of twins. this is just BS left over from the skiboarding days. the truth is, you probably want to go at least head height for an all around park ski. i 180 ski will actually ski more like a 160 regular ski. they both have the same length effective edge. trust me kid, a longer ski is the way to go, especially if its a light ski like the 1260s.
