First time, any tips?

I've been skiing since I was 3 (I would say im intermediate-advanced), but I've never gone park before (except hitting a few small jumps). After saving enough money, I bought myself my first twin tips and freestyle boots, and I've been hooked on freeskiing for about 5 months now. Tomorrow's the very first time I get to legit hit up the park, any advice?

-thanks

Trust your own ability, make sure you are comfortable with the stuff you begin to do, take it step by step, if you're a fast learner and in good shape you'll have a good time no matter what!

honestly, you wanna start small. start with some nice mellow boxes and nice mellow jumps. if you not comfortable going "sideways" on a box yet, go straight. It will help you get the feel for it a bit. And for jumps dont hit anything thats to big for your skill level. You dont want to blow out your knees, first day, on a jump you thought was only 15 feet but turned out to be a 60 footer. good luck pal.

Thanks for the help everyone! Ill go at my own pace. I might try a rail if I think its comfortable. but yeah I'll just do small jumps and some boxes.

Start small and most importantly HAVE FUN! Honestly just have a great time doing what you love and go for it!

Have some balls coming in. You just gotta except walking in that you are gonna fall flat on your face every one. It took me 3/4 of a season to grow a pair, just dont be afraid to get hurt and you will progress fast.

Just come in with the mindset knowing that you are gonna fall a lot to start, you're not gonna have any successful progression without a couple spills

progress equally on rails and jumps, don't go ham on jumps for a year and then not be able to slide a rail.

also just enjoy yourself, skiing is about going out and having fun not trying to learn as many cool tricks as possible to impress people.

Yeah....... no

Mary I think I love you.

Safety first, only try what you are comfortable/willing to. And if there are other kids in there, socialize a bit, they might have some tips/pointers and meeting new people is always fun.

You were here once.

Anyway, just do small features, don't care about what other people think of you, and DON"T do this^
